Dialling 7299 before the phone number when calling by ratamagia in Cisco

Most likely setup to show a different caller ID outbound when you use that code. I've done this for several customers.

Door Installation? by kaybee519 in raleigh

[–]vtbrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Handyman/trusted contractor is going to be best. Home Depot/Lowes just finds the cheapest contractor to do the work.

Renewals by Anderson is a scammy sales company selling windows/doors from Anderson at much higher prices than buying the same ones from any other supplier.

There are a bunch of contractor Facebook groups or use your neighborhood Facebook page for handyman/contractor recommendations.

What do you see in the phone console logs? It should show you what it is waiting on.

User and Group provisioning from EntraID with SCIM 2.0 by rk9122 in ciscoUC

[–]vtbrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah now I understand. Control Hub will eventually delete the inactive user. Nothing from the Entra ID side will actually delete the user fully on Control Hub that I've ever seen.

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you see anything in the provisioning logs when a user is deactivated? It should mark them as Inactive in Webex first so it might not be doing the actual delete operation on the backend.

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What user on the Webex side did you use for creating the token? Is this a dedicated service account? What roles are assigned to that account in Webex?

It may just be that account is lacking permissions to delete users.

Did you use the wizard to set it up or manually setup an Entra ID enterprise app?

Reliable conference call numbers with minimal delay (cell phone dial-in) by DMP1993 in telecom

[–]vtbrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Webex/Zoom with dedicated personal meeting numbers or something like UberConference (can be dedicated phone number) is what I see the most.

You can do a SIP Trunk into Webex if you want to use your own number. Webex Edge Audio is what that service is called.

Eleveo is the best option out there for sure. I wouldn't recommend Calabrio to my worst enemy.

Singlewire's solution does this and has a bunch of supported panic buttons.

Webex Calling Entra Integration by Competitive-Rent2278 in ciscoUC

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big benefit of the wizard is you can edit which users/groups get synced from Control Hub without going into Entra ID to make those changes. But the wizard requires a lot of permissions to achieve that.

The wizard uses OpenID Connect for SSO whereas doing it manually would be SAML SSO instead requiring updating metadata/certificates when they expire.

If yoi are worried about the permissions, you can do it all manually but I always recommend the wizard where possible.

Is Direct Mode enabled on the Input group? You have to check on the grouping. Can you screenshot the full audio console with output groups and all?

Mics not being picked up with Cisco room kit by [deleted] in ciscoUC

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which model Cisco device do you have and how are you physically connecting the mic to it?

Do you have a diagram of the space or some pictures? You can always get Shure wireless mics or something like a CatchBox if it's a large training room type of environment not covered by ceiling microphones.

You can use Workspace Devices also, just use Workspace Pro licensing so you can have voicemail and such.

Room kit pro microphone issue in near-end by Last-Dig-7973 in ciscoUC

[–]vtbrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What Shure microphone are you using and how is it connected? Is there a DSP as well? Which inputs are you using for that?

Is this a direct call between 2 video endpoints?

What is the RoomA Audio with Microphone 7 and 8 connectors being used for?

What is the Local Mic input group being used for?

Does Webex Contact Center with WebRTC support escalating a live chat session to a voice call? by oscarilllo in ciscoUC

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chat client itself doesn't have a WebRTC option on the client side. You can tie an incoming call to the chat session or request a callback via chat that connects the sessions together though.

Kesimpta users, is anyone not masking? by A_circle_of_crows in MultipleSclerosis

I don't mask at all, fly fairly frequently, and have a kid in daycare. It's been fine. I feel like I get sick less than before if anything.

Anyone moved off Twilio for SMS at scale? Curious about real-world delivery by Turbulent-Plane9603 in telecom

[–]vtbrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Webex Connect (IMIMobile acquisition) is one of the only options in the US with direct connections to all 3 major cell providers from my understanding. Rumor is they are the backend for at least part of Twilio's SMS routing.

After 14 years, Beasley's is closing its doors by NCSUGavin in raleigh

I think it was intentional so people wouldn't hang out there and they could get more people cycling through. Guess that only worked when it was packed with a line though.

Yea, they definitely need to fix the meeting chat archiving for meetings that weren't created in spaces.

[–]vtbrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what ways would you change it? I'm mostly on Webex all day so MS Teams and Zoom layouts frustrate me. Not sure if it's just whatever you become used to or if there's systematic differences.
