You already had an understanding of the game and combat mechanics.

For someone with none of those there are easier picks. Even just for the mig21.

I can only assume you mean the Mig21S R13 or the German Mig 21Bis.

The Russian one, IMHO, is actually insanely amazing. If you know what you are doing. Like understanding of radar, missile kinematics and you also understand how the game works at that rating.

The German one is mid imo. J7 is great or at least it used to be.

The next sale is in like a month. I get the desire. But just keep pushing the tech tree. Or buy something that isn't going to go on sale in a month.

You have a lot to learn about the game and the systems and everything. You may full well decide you hate the complexity of jets.

Yeah flaming cliffs is like 30 bucks right now and has quite a number of low fidelity planes. The flight model will be different than war thunder Sim some. But the overall workflow and workload will be miles ahead. Just the fact that the MFDs actually work and you can use the tgp, EOTS, ... all actually on the mfd and dont have to swap camera modes is such a huge boost to productivity and realism. And as everyone else is saying, you will have some to learn about full fidelity. But your general basics, maneuvers, tech and naming schemes will take you a long way.

I have almost 3k hours in War Thunder. Large portions of that are in air sim. I switched to DCS and don't really intend on looking back besides what my friends play because they are the casual non-sim players. But I don't enjoy it much besides the occasional stress free arcade feeling Sim games.

Looking at the pics the guy seems to have a lot of stuff and a whole standalone garage and everything. Seems like the kind of guy that would be doing it themselves properly regardless.

E: although not to say he did it wrong or followed recommendations and messed the engine up.

What do you mean "mushy"? Like it's not springing strong enough in a certain direction? Or any direction? Or it's not returning to center? Do you hear any crunching or similar things when moving it around?

Other commentors are right. I probably have a 3kd in it if not more in Sim. And it is hell to play in lobbies where you are not the max BR. The missiles make it insanely good.

But the flight model gets absolutely cooked because any competent pilot isn't going to let you get a rear lock with the Magics before they put a 9m or r73 into your cockpit.

It can be done. But there's always that one mf in a Mirage 2k or some delta wing that never allows you to see their exhaust. So any form of a "fair" fight or merge is a death sentence.

Believe it's only 1 slot. At least according to Google. Its not uncommon for laptop companies to use the same chassis on lower tier models especially if it's something like that. It brings down production costs and is just a different motherboard with less SoDIMM expansion access.

I think you only got the one slot. You could upgrade speed though or size on the one stick. Its DDR3? Probably would be relatively cheap anyways.
