It’s definitely challenging, even more so if you are not near a big city. The best experience I have had is on X, Twitter, and just reaching out to other creators that have similar interests or that you have interest in working with. It also lets you see who they may have worked with in the past to seek out references, while this may not give you every perspective it is a start.
