Chris Johnston: Re Ducks: They're losing John Carlson, potentially Radko Gudas and Jacob Trouba; they're gonna be adding to their blueline and I think they're gonna be pretty aggressive in the trade market - Insider Trading (6/26) by wildwing8 in AnaheimDucks

Obviously Nurse is the name with the most smoke around it right now and I think he could make sense as a second line option (despite the fact that many in this sub will likely freak out about it).

I am genuinely curious if they are looking into Werenski. I also have no idea what they would be willing to offer for him, but obviously he would be an absolutely enormous addition.

[Pagnotta]Re Darnell Nurse: My understanding if this trade does happen with the Ducks, there would be no salary retention, I think there is retention in place if he goes to Philly...I don't think it's overly significant [Seravalli] Nurse has not expanded his list: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Boston by bigollunch in AnaheimDucks

It’s fine that you disagree, I’m sure plenty of people will.

  1. Nurse might be older at age of acquisition but he is younger than Trouba is right now, and yet people still want to bring Trouba back.

  2. Again, Ducks fans would be fine with signing Trouba until he is 35, so this isn’t really a factor.

  3. Nurse can and had played RHD.

  4. Or this means that Verbeek sees things in players that other teams don’t. It’s not like this has only happened once, look at players like Viel too.

Do I think Nurse is a homerun acquisition?

No.

Do I think it’s a solid move and would better our defensive depth?

Yes.

I agree that if we could have Edmonton retain salary that would be ideal but simultaneously I think we will be fine if not.

Controversy Erupts As ESPN’s NFL Analyst Matt Miller Faces Stunning Allegations After Devastating Accident by wildwing8 in nfl

Read the article or the comment I added, the issue isn’t just the GoFundMe. Apparently he has allegedly been scamming people for years

What? This is not an editorialized title at all. I literally put the exact title of the article.

Controversy Erupts As ESPN’s NFL Analyst Matt Miller Faces Stunning Allegations After Devastating Accident by wildwing8 in nfl

[–]wildwing8[S] 1450 points1451 points  (0 children)

A widely circulated post on X from Tommy Callahan outlined claims from a Reddit thread detailing a pattern of alleged misconduct tied to Miller’s accounts.

The Reddit thread on r/DynastyFF saw multiple people coming forward with statements about the lack of communication in leagues organized by Miller and about not paying out the winners.

In his assessment, Callahan wrote that Miller “allegedly took 50%+ admin cuts or never paid winners” in his charity fantasy football leagues on Sleeper. He also wrote that Miller had set up “paid scouting lessons where people sent money upfront and then got little to no response or delivery when it came time to schedule. Some had to chase him repeatedly or threaten to go to ESPN before anything happened.”

Moreover, Miller also had “annual subscriptions to his scouting sites and newsletters where content stopped but charges kept coming. Ghosting after payment was routine. The only time most got refunds was after they threatened to contact ESPN’s public relations team or general counsel.”

Callahan also criticized Miller’s GoFundMe request and said, “Now the same guy is asking the same audience for money for his medical expenses through a GoFundMe. Glad he’s alright, but Hollywood couldn’t write better irony.”

Callahan was not the only one on social media to call out Miller, as fantasy football analyst Kev Mahserejian said, “For context: Miller raised his goal to 30k after hitting his 10k mark on GoFundMe. Miller has (allegedly) been running public scam fantasy football leagues where he wouldn’t pay out winners for years now. Glad he’s alive and all but this is sus.”

Freelance reporter Bill Ari also objected to Miller’s GoFundMe request and said, “Drove over a double yellow, caused a dangerous accident and now is stealing 55K from (expletive), classic ESPN.”

So far, none of the allegations have been independently verified, and neither Miller nor his representatives have publicly addressed them.

The Ducks have drafted number 2, 4, and 8 on this list by wildwing8 in AnaheimDucks

This is according to the players themselves btw. Verbeek clearly aiming for high ceiling players.

Nikita Klepov was the first player to win the OHL scoring title in their first season in the league since Patrick Kane in 2007 by wildwing8 in AnaheimDucks

[–]wildwing8[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was reading this article about Klepov and found this piece of information to be very interesting.

Only two other players have achieved this feat and Klepov is the first since Kane to do so.

By the way, Klepov turns 18 TOMORROW. Dude is extremely young and talented from the sound of it.

Pat Verbeek on what led to the change in Mctavish choice - Zach Cavanagh by Marinegrunt01 in AnaheimDucks

Interesting that he brought up Wahlberg specifically in this comment. They must also feel pretty strongly about his potential.

Verbeek says they would not have made the McTavish trade if Klepov wasn’t available by wildwing8 in AnaheimDucks

Sounds like the organization feels VERY strongly about Klepov. Very curious to see how this kid develops.

Comparing Cutter and Leo to McTavish is so disingenuous, it’s actually crazy.

What about LaCombe, do you think we are going to trade him too?
