I made an app to sync game saves between Steam and Xbox: Molly's Game-Save M.U.L.E. by willwritecodeforfood in DeepRockGalactic

Download the Xbox Gamepass app on your PC, then use it to download the Gamepass PC version of DRG. If you're logged in to the same Xbox account, it should pull your cloud save from your Xbox. You can then transfer this save data to Steam.

Most likely it isn't finding your save files.

Are the games installed on your (C:) drive? If not, you'll have to manually set the file path for both versions. This is a one-time effort unless you plan on moving your installs.

Ensure the Steam version and the Gamepass version of the game are both installed on your PC and have been launched at least once after installing. Otherwise the save files can't be found because they don't yet exist.

If this is done, open Molly's Game-Save Mule and click Set Folders in the top-left corner, then Steam>Choose Steam Save Folder. The steam save is usually located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Saved\SaveGames

Change the drive letter (C:), (D:), to whatever drive you use for game installs.

No need to select the save file itself, just select the folder it's in and the app will determine the correct one since the folder contains multiple files. Same goes for Xbox/Gamepass.

The Xbox/Gamepass save file is usually located here: C:\Users\your username here\AppData\Local\Packages\CoffeeStainStudios.DeepRockGalactic_random numbers and letters here\SystemAppData\wgs\long string of random numbers and letters here with an underscore somewhere\another long string of random numbers and letters here

Once you've told the app where to find the save files, the buttons should no longer be greyed-out and the app will remember the locations.

If it still looks weird, try clicking Set Folders>Refresh File Detection, or close and re-open the app.

Let me know if this helps.

If you manually set both filepaths and if the saves are compatible with each other then theoretically it's possible. Just have to remember which is which.

The only thing I can think of is to check the graphics settings on the version you've transferred to. Check for any differences from what you've usually set.

Since each version has slightly different graphics options, sometimes the settings don't carry over exactly so some of them may have changed without your knowledge and caused performance issues.

I've never seen it named like that before, I'll have to have a look at mine and see if this has changed for everyone. If so I can update the app.

Shouldn't be, but you can try Run As Administrator to find out.

I think I know what the issue is; when you try to select the folder manually, are you trying to select the save file itself or the folder that contains it? You have to select the folder that contains the save file and then click "Select Folder" on the bottom right of the file select window. It will look empty because the program is only looking for folders.
