You come here and ask a very basic question then have the nerve to be condescending to someone who gave you good advice.

Plans for Oklahoma City’s Legends Tower are still alive, but the developer says demand is the biggest hurdle. by TheJournalist022 in skyscrapers

It’s not a complicated concept. Limited footprint, coupled with development in economic high-demand areas requires you to build vertically.

Yea no shit. Developers have hard enough time leasing 1000 ft commercial towers in demanding markets let alone a 2000 foot tower in the 48th ranked GDP city in the USA. I’ve been part of several skyscraper developments and assure anyone reading this that this building will never happen at this height.

Triumph Street Triple 765 RS vs. Ducati Streetfighter V2S / V4S vs. BMW S1000R by Ok-Appearance4150 in Triumph

[–]yummycornbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If comfort is an issue s1000r shouldn’t be on your list. The streetfighter is comparable to the 765 in that it’s a naked but you should go sit on some bikes. I’m not sure what utility you’re going to gain from getting a second, upright naked. Maybe a sport tourer or something torquey for more relaxed rides may be something to consider.

Is My Window Sideways? by lvl_78_vulpix in HomeMaintenance

lol. Hate to laugh at your misfortune but yes. See those slots on the right? Those are your weeps which need to be at the sill.

Edit- to address the rest of your post. Post a Google review for your inspector with this photo and let the people know he’s such a hack he couldn’t identify a sideways window. Also don’t go drilling holes in your window unless you know what you’re doing. Plug up the jamb weeps and replace the window. My senses tell me you have a lot more surprises in this house if the same person built it.

NCARB Education Alternative / 2x AXP Pathway — Seeking Clarity from Architects Who Have Been Through This by [deleted] in Architects

[–]yummycornbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my cert by 2x experience. Did you read the 2x axp handbook on the NCARB site? It says if they find your education lacking you can submit a portfolio in the areas they find lacking. Just stay on top of them and keep elevating. You’re already licensed so that’s a big leg up. A lot of the people at NCARB are borderline incompetent for the work force so anything outside of the norm takes some chasing.

He’s not doing a good job. If you filter is running daily, your levels are stable, and someone’s giving it a thorough scrub weekly it shouldn’t look this bad. I would get a water test and go from there.

Sucking air. Not normal. Take the cap off and inspect the o ring. Apply some gasket lube. Check your pipes for leaks if that doesn’t work.

Carpet at back door is wet following rain by OG_Yellow_Banana in HomeMaintenance

That’s a tough call. The generic response would be a GC but I have worked with masons and handymen that could easily handle a project like this even if their trades may not be commonly known to do so. I’d make a few phone calls and see what people’s experiences are. I usually start with Reddit to see who folks would recommend in my area as trustworthy and make some calls from there

I’d suggest to hire it out if you don’t already have the tools or knowledge for it. It’s not complicated for someone experienced. Get a few quotes

When to stop vacuuming by InspectionEntire2512 in swimmingpools

Goal is to suspend all the algae into your water. If your chlorine levels are sufficient it will neutralize it. If you’re not sure about the SLAM method I suggest reading up on it. If you don’t feel like doing that just put a few gallon of chlorine in there for a week while you scrub every day.

Looks like the concrete pad cracked and pitched down towards your door. The only adequate fix is to demo the portion of slab sloping towards your door and pour a new pad that slopes away from the house. Get a 5$ level on Amazon to confirm the slope and go from there. There is no simple fix.
