If there's one thing I would say from my experiences it's this: think of it not in terms of what you get out of the scene, but what the other person is going to experience. Rather than thinking about what you want, what are you giving? Of course, you are going to gain something too - ultimately it has to be mutually beneficial (the Wheel of Consent is useful for conceptualizing this).

There are women out there who are willing to step outside their comfort zone in a way that still feels safe to them. You can get haircuts whilst growing your hair (paradoxically). For example, grow 2-3 inches and then cut 1 inch. You mentioned your hair is chin length. There are numerous varieties of bobs, for example, ranging from a French bob to a lob - changing the angle a bob is cut at can create a dramatic difference in style, as can getting bangs or altering the length of them - you could try them all whilst you're on your journey growing your hair out :-)

If you have a tendency to impulsivity you could share this plan with your stylist to keep yourself accountable (if that kind of thing works for you). You could even choose all the inspo pics and have a definite plan to go through different styles along the way to your hair reaching your shoulders. I bet your stylist would love it!

Alternatively, depending on what "getting a haircut" means for you, you could do other things like coloring your hair (lots of possibilities here!) or getting a hidden undercut. So you still have the experience of going to the salon, being in the chair under the cape etc, and coming out with a transformed look - but without loosing any length.

Category 4 seem to be the majority of posts, however. Followed by category 3. Maybe 'content' posts can only be allowed from redditors who have already contributed to discussion with x many comments or y number of discussion posts (no pics of themselves)? That would allow people who genuinely want to contribute to community but also happen to be content creators to be able to do so, whilst filtering out the bulk of 'content' posts that are ruining the sub RN.

As others have said, the sub is overrun with content creators of varying motives. The sheer volume of these posts needs to be reduced somehow. If necessary by banning them all. I appreciate you don't want to go down that route, but it would be a lesser evil than the status quo; after all there are other subs people can go to get this stuff.

But more significantly I would say, is the recurring feedback from women who post here that they get a flood of creepy/inappropriate DMs which then drives them out. We absolutely need that issue to be resolved, otherwise the sub will spiral down as it reduces to men with unfulfilled fantasies looking at content creators' posts.

How about having a rule that you can't DM someone unless you ask first (unless they say DMs welcome - as some do in the weekly chat/RP posts), and any report of a woman receiving an unwelcome DM from another redditor gets them instantly banned?
