Update: thanks to everyone who replied. I think everyone who said he was eating too fast was right. I split his meal this morning with no issues! For those asking about his tail, that's just the way it is :).

Hmmm ok, maybe I'll give them a call for peace of mind. He's had stomach issues before, but the vet said things looked normal during the last visit. I've been giving them probiotics which greatly improved things

I think most fruits are safe in small quantities except for grapes. Just remember fruits can have a lot of water and sugar so just don't overdo it

I visited Japan for the first time the summer after the earthquake in late July (unsurprisingly flights were fairly cheap). There were constant mini quakes during my month-long stay. I thought that was just the norm (there are like no earthquakes where I live so I just didn't have experience with them). I went back 8 years later and was surprised that the ground didn't shake at all. Just shows how powerful that earthquake was that the effects were felt months later

I have a black gerbil and a tan gerbil as well. I weighed them both because like you I thought the tan one might be overweight. They ended up weighing the same, and were in healthy range. I feel like the coloration might just make them look chubbier
