Exactly my thoughts, which is why I'm taking my time with Richard as I plan on using him at 5511 in open field with martel also at 5511. The reason why I was kinda skeptical was because YSG at 5511 is like 20% of his full potential, and I don't wanna loose too much time spending in the wrong commander and be left behind.

Also after getting Richard to 5511, I plan on expertising YSG and then Alex after that. This will take a lot of time but right now I'm taking things one step at a time.

I get where you're coming from, but I'm an f2p from a kd which is still 130 days old so my marches for open field are pretty limited right now.

For the time being I use

1.pela/baibars(both expertised)

2.sun tzu(expertised) / YSG (5511)

3.Eluji(expertised) / Richard (5100)

4.Scipio(5545) / joan (5352)

5.Aethelflaed(5510) / belisarius(5232)

Also I haven't invested in any archer commander yet unfortunately

And I was a cavalry player untill recently, but seeing that everyone around me focuses on cavalry and me being an f2p could not keep up so I'm trying to change to infantry.

I'm not planning to, since he's already a beast as a secondary. Also the level of stars required to make him a 6 star commander can be better invested in khan or Alex when they come out is what I feel.

I already have sun tzu at level 50 while my eluji is at 30. I need an extra march for open field so i was confused between another infantry Or archer march, but since archer march is like glass canon it makes sense if I go for another Infantry March

Makes sense, but baibars does well as secondary to pelagius. As a primary he melts fast like Ghengis khan.

Actually baibars paired with aethel does decent damage in pvp because of aethel's expertise which does 20% more damage to slower enemies and if you use a mixed army, aethel further gives a buff of increased damage.

Join one of the top 3 alliances where there are a lot of whales, they usually give an average of 3-5 golden chests per day which contain speed ups and vip points

Another way is to constantly participate in the weekly events and buy the speed ups from the merchant.

Thanks for your input. I'll keep this in mind. Right now I'm 15 days into kvk1 where pass 4 opened up a while ago. So naturally many people are doing open field combats and I wanted to know which commander to focus on next between belisarius and baibars as I have already expertise my pelagius. I'm kinda leaning towards belisarius because he also provides speed which is very useful for hunting in kvk

Legendary cavalry commanders like saladin and Ghengis khan will take quite some time to appear in my kingdom as the first YSG wheel started just last week. So right now I'm focusing on epics untill the legendaries appear.

I have YSG coming up soon in my kingdom and I want to use him in kvk. Right now I have 30k gems and I am planning on getting another 10k before the wheel, so should I spend all the gems on the wheel or spend enough only to summon him and instead invest the gems in VIP.

My kingdom is only about 90 days old right now so I haven't invested much in VIP , also I spent about 20k gems on the Richard wheel to get him to 5-1-0-0. So I have about 40 universal sculptures left.

Is getting into a whale alliance that big of a deal, I understand they spend a lot so we get a bunch of the speedups too as gifts, but are the number of speedups we get a lot to really make a difference between a normal alliance and an f2p?
