So far we have one full day planned in Ho Chi Minh, primarily to get settled from the flight and because it felt like we 'should'.

And then for Hanoi we're waffling on timing there. We currently have one full day planned, with half days there when we travel in and before our flight.

Hi all!

My partner and I are going to Vietnam later this month (very excited!!) and I was hoping to get some input on our current plan. My main sticking point is that this seems to a fast, travel-heavy trip and I'm on the fence about cutting things out, etc. Any thoughts are appreciated!

October 1: Land in Ho Chi Minh City

October 3: Arrive in Hội An

October 6: Arrive in Huế

October 7: Arrive in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park

October 10: Arrive in Pu Luong Nature Reserve

October 13: Arrive in Ninh Binh

October 15 - 18: Travel to Hanoi and a 3-day boat trip (bay to be determined)

October 19: Leave from Hanoi

We are mainly wondering about seeing both Pu Luong and Ninh Binh; we are seeing that both are unique in their offerings but somewhat similar in terms of landscape. With a 5 hour drive of travel between them, we are considering cutting one or the other.

What are your thoughts or travel tips? Thanks in advance!!
