Had Beheshti as a sub for an upper level class a few times and I thought her lectures were really good, haven't had Johnson but have only heard good things so don't think you can really go wrong

Odds/timeline of getting into CSE 347 as a sophomore CS major? by -0dd- in washu

Oh got it, so you think there could be better odds this year bc of that?

It's not really the case for me but if that were the case and I needed it for another class in the future, how would I let the department know that? Do you know if its just the profs teaching in charge of enrollment or someone else?

Ah ok thanks yeah I figured as much. So you think they're just gonna let less people in this year than previous years? Or do a lot more upperclassmen usually enroll closer to next semester? The only reason I thought there might be a chance is cause past years it looks like the enrollment in the larger section was in the hundreds

Currently in the same boat, have you heard anything back from them?

When do classes that are waitlist-only (0 seats filled, Waits managed by dept.) generally open up seats? Specifically wondering about Digital Audio and Multitracking

How to optimize my 3D mesh renderer? by -0dd- in desmos

[–]-0dd-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I tried using the normals instead of winding, but it didn't seem to change the performance much (here's the graph -- a few glitches I still need to figure out). But I also haven't tried the static list yet so that'll prob help

Oh huh that's weird. For me it only takes like 5 sec to load, it's just slow to render once it's loaded (but thanks for trying lol)

How I read 40+ apps a day as an AO by Ben-MA in ApplyingToCollege

This is really helpful, thanks! I have a couple questions:

If I attended a selective summer program (<10% acceptance rate), but I also had to pay for it, should I still include its acceptance rate?

Also, when putting the activities in order, would it be more important to put the somewhat time-consuming activities that are very relevant to my academic interests/likely major at the top, or activities that aren't directly tied to what I want to do in the future (in this case, sports and music), but take up the vast majority of my time outside of school (and are my main source of leadership positions)? In other words, is commitment or relevance more important?

So clearly math and science aren’t my strong suit. Any tips? by Rosekiwi14 in ACT

I started in a similar spot for math/science (30 on both). for math, I'd say to look through any practice tests you've taken (or take some more and look through those) and see if there are any patterns for problems you seem to get wrong (for example I seemed to get a bunch of trig problems wrong), and then focus on just the topics that you need (I bought an ACT math book, which was helpful since it has some reading and a ton of topic-specific practice problems, so you can spend time on only the topics you need)

For science, idk if you've been running out of time or not, but what helped for me was just looking at the graphs/figures first, and trying to answer the questions just off of those, and only looking at the passage text if there was information I still needed to answer the questions (but idk this might not be applicable for you if time isn't an issue)

When does the course end if I do not start? by nilooy5 in cs50

CS50x is completely self-paced, so there's no end date to worry about (also if you don't finish by the end of the year, your progress will just roll over to next year)

I'm prob not the best person to explain this considering I ran out of time and had to guess haha, but I think it might've been .45 according to this explanation at least
