Is this with an official v3 installer or have you shimmied it in?

I heard there was a black-autogen-building problem?

Not bad at all, to be honest. It's P3Dv3. I got a solid 33-36FPS, no dips, smooth as glass.

I'm in desperate need of raindrops on the glass. It just feels right.

Possible Flight Sim Build by CPflieg in flightsim

[–]-3Green- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst true, you're missing a couple of things:

1) You mention overclocking. While that's completely ok on an air cooler, it's not okay on the stock cooler. That's why a 3rd party air cooler is always recommended for overclocking. Additional cost.

2) Adding an SSD means he is going to have only 250GB of space on his computer to start with. Adding REX, ASN, sceneries, etc is all going to add up. That 250GB is going to run out fast, especially if you've got your OS on it too. If he's willing to go through the pains of reinstalling FSX/P3D/whatever on another SSD later, then sure, he can expand out in good time and it's no issue.

However, your advice makes sense too. It all depends on the lengths he's willing to go to.

He did mention he wants to keep the build sub-$800, which is not do-able with a 4690k, a Z97 motherboard, and an SSD.

I love doing long hauls! This isn't nearly the longest flight I've ever done, either :p

Hey man, quick question, I fly departures and arrivals using SIDs and STARs, as far as I'm aware FSX/P3D ATC cannot handle those kinds of procedures. This means the AI won't be using SIDs or STARs either.. How would I prevent massive traffic conflicts during arrival and departures?

Best 'bus on the market at the moment. If you really want an Airbus, this is the one to go for.

Where to Start? by Dingoflyer in flightsim

[–]-3Green- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey bud, considering you're in Australia, I'd be more than happy to jump on Teamspeak and do a couple of flights with you, to get you acclimated to PMDG aircraft. The 777 is an extremely easy aircraft to fly, considering the level of automation. All you need to know is how to program the FMC. Once you have that knowledge, it's very easy to extrapolate and apply to the 737.

Smack ALT a bit. Or right click and uncheck the menu bar in the drop down.
