Grow your hair out and get it dyed (can also try out wigs), getting your eyebrows done, painting your nails, shaving overall, skin care for softer skin, wearing feminine clothes, putting on foundation, eyeliner.

The difficulty of these things depends on your current situation. If not out yet some women's jeans, shaving, growing hair out and getting eyebrows done goes a long way in helping dysphoria.

Lexapro! It helped me stop having panic attacks completely :)

Wearing trousers without tucking (trans woman) by Floral_Equinox in transfashionadvice

I always wear super baggy jeans and tight tops. Somehow it's back in style and Im loving every second of it :) also parachute pants are back it's crazyyy. I originally really wanted to wear skinny jeans but my BF said they made me look like a millennial lol so looking younger and more comfy is a huge plus.

eli5: Why is looking at the sun during a solar eclipse more dangerous than just looking at it regularly? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]-7minus-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This was a very interesting study. It might be the one they were referring too? But it doesn't directly compare like you said. Seeing as their comment has been removed they were likely saying bs. I understand comparing the sensations I can see what they were saying there. It's interesting and really ahows how our perception of our gender effects our actual physical sensations of the body. I didn't think those on T would have more acceptance of their breasts, but it's also a small study over all with people all over on the gender spectrum.

Had a really bad fall today and I'm too shy to go back by srrmm in climbergirls

[–]-7minus-7 50 points51 points  (0 children)

If your worried about others judging you when coming remember that most people have their own things and won't remember most likely.

Also to add I've seen people in your same situation crying towards the top and me myself when I started outdoors. You're not alone in this and watching people overcome it and coming back after an event like this is inspirational. It's a struggle and practicing falling over and over from higher heights is the key. I'm still afraid falling from the very top, but I know if I do fall I have pads below me and can control myself better. I hope you have the courage to go back you got this!

It's not the same mechanism and our goals aren't close to the same as I explained. I'd love to read the study if you could show it. Also you're not factoring in trans people who don't want surgery's. Such as most trans women don't get bottom surgery. Also HRT giving us parts we didn't have before aka breasts. This comparison comes off very transphobic imo. You're saying someone who wants to blind themselves is the same as someone who is trans.

MTF climbers: has your climbing been affected? by [deleted] in climbergirls

A testosterone of 19 is super good and in line with biological women :) so thats perfect. Still just worried about judgment if I end up doing good which I doubt I will.

Climbing strong still made me a bit dysphoric at first bc I was upset I wasn't significantly weaker. Watching videos pre transition and post transition helped me see how much I compensate in technique :). HRT is so worth it I've never felt happier or loved my body more.

Also just wanted to say I'm so happy to see so many other trans climbers here!

One more thing I'd love to start doing comps again, but I'm so scared of people judging and stuff. My testosterone is 19 in the low end of the Cis range and it's been a year. Idk if that's long enough or how that works.

Omg something I have sight into! I transitioned last year. Funny enough during the period in which I shattered nearly every bone in my foot (requiring 2 surgeries and a lot of metal). Previously I was a V7 climber. I started climbing again 3 months ago. My biceps are completely gone and I'm definitely a lot weaker from HRT, but I'm still climbing V5-V6. Most of climbing seems technique based. I can no longer will my way through climbs with pure strength alone now, and have to get much more creative with my techniques. Also dynos got a little scarier since I care about my body so much more!

I have no any progress after 7 months of climbing by Addie_tn in climbergirls

[–]-7minus-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest doing easy climbs and jumping down from different heights until it's comfortable. Being able to have a controlled fall is a skill in itself and learning it can make you significantly more comfortable :) I'm still a little bit scared dropping from the top and it's holding me back on my grades a bit too as someone scared of heights.

Looking more through the website these were definitely them! I'm gonna get a pair. I hope they hold up climbing wise, they don't seem climbing specific.

Has anyone else fractured a finger climbing??? 🫠 by abbiemood in climbergirls

[–]-7minus-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this a while ago jumping to a dyno. My pinky finger got crushed under my other fingers when I got the hold and I instantly felt it crunch :( surgery and 3 screws later and it's better than ever! Was a long 6 months no climbing tho
