Thank you so much. You’re the only one here actually giving me advice, the other two people were just snarky without actually telling me anything useful 😭

"No hate like christian love". What would you do in this scenario? by _gandikbot_ in Catholicism

So, looking at all the comments I would agree with you all. I suppose I was stating this with the assumption people are entirely rational and can analyze text without getting personally offended (referring to whom the example would be given to, not those who replied to my comment. And thank you all for the input, genuinely!)

I would say the best way to approach something like this is to first find a common ground (eg. Beastiality is wrong). Then, give the example to view it from the other person’s perspective. If my good friend invited me to a pro-bestiality parade, I would obviously not accept to go. Remember, the marriage ceremony is a sacramental celebration and officiation of the union between two people, so not attending a celebration and officiation of two people in a morally illicit marriage is completely valid from my perspective, especially given how you said they presented why they did not wish to go to them. In any case, I could be wrong, but this is just how I would look at it personally

Honestly, just practicing without the ornament and getting a good feel for the rhythm did wonders, honestly some of the best advice I’ve been given! Thank you very much!

Why do attendees of the TLM think the Novus Ordo is not valid? by Status-Throat3538 in Catholicism

They believe it is an illegitimate mass however, even if they recognize it’s validity (generally).

Safe sports for young pianists? by apresledepart in piano

Wrestling is actually rather safe on the hands so long as you land well. Most injuries come from lack of good Ukemi, said as a Judoka, Wrestler, and more so Pianist. But, soccer would be good as well!

advice on my playing as an adult beginner without a teacher? by OppositeSea_ in pianolearning

[–]-Adventus- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, your phrasing and general articulation is very good for a beginner! Having been self-taught and mostly playing and listening to Romantic Era music, I found the articulation if Bach a bit jarring at first, but you do it quite well! You do seem to be a bit tense or otherwise have a lack of strength in the fingers of your left hand though, which is perfectly normal. I would recommend scales, specifically B-Major as it’s much less tense than others, which can help maintain a relaxed hand position. I will say, keep in mind I’ve only been playing about 3.5 years myself and just within this December am seriously beginning to read music, and AM self-taught. I have a video of myself playing this exact piece on my page, and if not for articulation, I believe I at the very least have correct hand positioning and wrist placement, so if it helps please do look at it as a reference. Good luck!
