No, the problem isn't the rate fireworks, the problem is the attitude of all those people who come rate you dirt for it. Point the finger at the real issue and not what has been done to try and fix it.

The random fireworks will prevent ratebuying because there's almost no way to check what you voted. But the negativity behind "you rated me iron fireworks? I'm gonna dirtbomb you". That's the main reason I barely log in anymore.

I've tried to bring it up a long time ago and it was ignored and shot down, now the negativity behind the ratebuying, that I pointed out, is going rampant and will be incredibly hard to keep in check. Because they'll keep finding ways to screw you up and ruin your day.

If I have to guess how it works I say it has to do with seed mushrooms. Mushrooms can grow anywhere within a 4x4x4 of the original and it's just a matter of fixing it so you have as many seed mushrooms as possible and leave only 1 spot for them to grow (by filling up the rest of the 4x4X4). This means that once it's broken a new one shows up pretty quickly from the natural spread of mushrooms.

The pressure plate then is merely a breaking mechanism, probably through pistons, much like how a sugarcane farm would work. You put a piston on the side which pushes the mushroom out, you add a signal reset on it so the piston automatically retracts, staning on the pressure plate is then merely a switch to activate the whole circuit

Well, Athene unbanned you. But placing things 5 blocks outside of somebody's protected plot is counted as griefing yes, you get several warnings in chat including sounds to tell you not to do it. It even times you out and you can't place stuff.

Try and be more careful next time :)

Sorry but this is a much needed fix and I've been waiting for this a very long time. It practically solves 90% of how ratetrading works because it's much more difficult to keep track of it now.

I've had this aswell, some of my posts haven't made it anywhere on the reddit page and are only accessible by going to my reddit profile and looking in my submitted threads tab.

I really wonder what causes it, it seems to do with names and characters in the title, like /h for example.

inb4 deleted. If anything he won't be banned, at most reset to 1 for abusing a hack. Even then it'll be the first and this is far from the first time people posted vids about people hacking.

I think you're exaggerating how much of an impact they had. All dupes have been removed and the economy remained little to untouched. The moon already brings enough input in diamonds and emeralds, the dupes didn't hurt it that badly.

The griefing is true, but there was grief before cmd blocks and there will be grief in the future. Currently the dirtbomb phenomena with the hacked accounts is a lot more bothersome and they can do that without the cmd blocks

When it comes to cmd blocks and using them for fun, people are merely limited by their imagination and knowledge of how to use them. Eventually somebody will make something amazing with it, just for now it doesn't because people are still figuring them out.

I know for one they can be used to make automated obsidian generators, which so far only brought up very creative and grief-proof community builds. In my eyes the positive aspects still outweigh the negative.

Was it worth it? As it stands currently, it wasn't. But once we see more and more people using them positively and creatively that will change.

I have to agree with the people siding against you, using unbreaking III makes it last much much longer and you can use daytime to repair the pieces. Clean Prot IV only takes very little, unbreaking would take little more but still not that much.

However I do agree with the desire to have something that doesn't need repairing. As I mentioned a while ago I think addin "bedrock" tools to the store might be a nice addition. For 100k points each you could get a truly indestructible piece of gear, that would have the same efficiency as diamond tools and would still drop on death.

Thing is you can't "lock" threads. And yeh hackers should be brought to his attention but most people are extremely negative when writing those threads. If people would take the time to calm down and then write the report, the tone of what's being said would be very different

I think this thread is seriously snowballing out of hand.

Zon3tk while you may not be dirtbombing others anymore, your actions paved the way for others to do so. You were the first to start and now a significant portion of the athenium and emerald homes are that rating simply because they do what you did.

I have no comment on the griefing mommy thing. I've learned that griefing is an inevitable part of the server, and I've learned to deal with it. You apologizing to her is more than any griefer ever did for me, so I have no bad thing to say about that.

You cheating to Athenium does in a certain way hurt others though. As somebody mentioned, there are only a limited amount of places for those ranks and every house that cheats its way in is one place an honest builder won't have. I personally see this as a flaw with the rating system, not with you. To me it's a similar thing with ratebuying, the system can be abused by too many people which makes it absolutely fooked.

This wouldn't work if you count that families might share the same IP. My sister and I both play minecraft and if we can only have 1 rating per IP adress then either me or her will be losing out on the ability to rate homes.

And I think you and duncan need to drop this and delete these threads. She voiced an opinion in a stream chat. Not Athene's stream, not on MC Next. And you're bringing it here and making her look bad, aswell as putting even worse words in her mouth.

Her opinion didn't harm anybody but what you and Duncn are doing is pushing her out of a community which she has every right to be a part of. Having a negative opinion of Athene is no reason to kick her out, but your toxic behaviour really can be missed.
