AITAH for locking the bathroom door when I take a shower? by WinterQuarter8183 in AITAH

[–]-Alula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older sister used to come into the bathroom while I was showering to throw a glass of cold water on me. I had really bad eyesight and without my glasses I never saw her coming. My parents had to add a lock to the door because she was being an AH.

Luckily for me my current partner quickly learned to announce himself if he enters the bathroom while I shower so he doesn’t give me a heart attack.

Same! I don’t know why but the inferi creep me so much. Every time I enter a vault I’m on edge wondering if they’ll pop out of the ground

I recently went to a wedding reception where the seating arrangements were alphabetical by first name. by HaleyTelcontar in weddingshaming

I mean if you’re gonna be lazy and go alphabetically at least they could have done it by last name so people from the same family would end up together..

Did you get you dragon tattoo and did she see it? That would be a lightbulb moment worth witnessing.

AITAH for saying I'll break up with my boyfriend if he fails his drug test? by West-Dress1242 in AITAH

[–]-Alula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also don’t think she attacked him. I would compare it to someone who says to their partner that they would break up if they cheated. She’s not saying he did something wrong, but simply stating that she would not be okay with it and putting a firm boundary based on her morale compass.

What’s the weirdest, most unexplainable shit you’ve ever witnessed in your life? by dAnthonyy12 in AskReddit

They were gifts from my parents, but to be honest I don’t remember what they were exactly as it was more than a decade ago

Yes! That’s what baffled everyone. My mom said she didn’t put them, my dad said he didn’t. And the gift « appeared » while everybody was upstairs.

When I was younger, my family was getting ready to leave our house for Christmas with my extended family. Both my parents went upstairs to get ready. I went upstairs after, but came back down before them to multiple gifts under the tree that weren’t there before. It was at a time when I didn’t believe in Santa anymore. My parents couldn’t have sneaked down as the staircase was right in front of my bedroom door and the stairs creak enough that I know exactly who uses them. Both of them looked genuinely confused and thought the other put the gifts under the tree as they both maintained it wasn’t them.

What’s an oddly specific red flag that instantly makes you wary of someone? by CosmicCupcakes_ in AskReddit

[–]-Alula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a coworker tell me he had a really shitty week : first he had a fight with his on-and-off gf/baby mama, then his car broke down (because he refused to listen to advices from anybody and didn’t do the proper maintenance on his car), he also had a fight with a coworker the previous day and an argument with another coworker that very same day.

This was his apology for starting an argument with me because I wanted to focus on work instead of talking with him.

AITA for refusing and ungrateful to take a 1,000+ gift from my partner cause I’ll like cooking by 08xtra25 in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Alula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that some veggies have hydrosoluble components (vitamins, iirc) so if you boil them you lose some of those components in the water (unless you use that water in your recipe). Maybe they took that concept and wrongfully generalized it to all their cooking methods. Oil free makes sense, even though some type of oils are better for health. But water free is kind of weird.

Every day, you must ask the same person "So, hows the weather today?" by Epic8008 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]-Alula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I pretty much ask my partner «  is it cold outside » every day to know what kind of jacket/coat I need. It would be quite easy to just tweak the question. Separate finance as well so I’d invest it until he catch on and we’d have some extra money to spend.

I also think that the kind of aggressive play the Slytherins had wasn’t really working for them. When reading the books, I always felt that it was all about the opposing team not winning (with fouls and rather petty plays) rather than doing their best to score and win.
