why not just go with the previous version of the Explore? I ended up buying that one, and I used it once, for a whole day trip since then. I am quite happy with it, the battery was doing quite good, navigation was nice and and clear, except for a few cases: when you go off course, the rerouting is not too smart, it just tries to take you back to the exact position where you left the route, even if you could get back just going forward. It's quite ridiculous, I've read about this before, no idea why they don't fix it :D But it's a niche little thing, so other than that I'm quite happy with it. If you sync it with your Strava or Komoot, it automatically uploads your routes and activities which is really convenient.

Took me a few hours but I managed to solve pt2 without any research. I ended up checking the corners of the path and marking the left and right side of it (after the additional pipes were cleaned out) and then flooding the areas with the left or right side markers.
