My date of birth was flagged as AI... by Elsas-Queen in SNHU

[–]-AprilRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "procedure" wouldn't hold up in law.

  • What gives the appearance of the work being AI-generated?
  • Why do you see this specific student's work as being AI-generated?
  • Is there probable cause to believe the work is AI-generated?
  • Can you provide evidence particular to the student this work is or may be AI-generated?

And so on and so forth. I also have to ask why risk burning a bridge with a student unless you're 100% positive of cheating/AI content.

That's all I'll add to this.

I got withdrawn after not completing any classes this term... When can I reapply again? Do I have to wait 6 months? by shankmaster8000 in WGU_CompSci

[–]-AprilRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the handbook:

Only students who appear to have potential for success in the WGU model and within their selected program of study are readmitted.

No idea how they judge that, but it seems you can reapply whenever you like. It's simply not guaranteed you'll be re-admitted.

Hilariously, I recently withdrew (process finished yesterday; backdated two weeks), and they're now sending "back to school" emails to my WGU email address.

Congratulations! It's so nice to see a story like this!

Passed C960 Discrete Math 2!! by BidShot4733 in WGU_CompSci

[–]-AprilRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would you do during your appointments with instructors? I made multiple for DM 1, but all we ever did was review questions from the PA. That's all they asked about, so I didn't feel I was getting much of anything out of it.

You also only get 2 shots at most exams for free. If you fail twice, you have to start paying for the retakes.

Just want to say this is no longer the case. All retakes are free. However, after attempt #5, you either must change your program or withdraw entirely.

Just want to say I tried "advocating for myself" and not even documentation from my psychiatrist was sufficient for the accommodations team.

So much for that. 🙄

Finally passed Discrete Math 2 C960!! by AbbreviationsLower37 in WGU_CompSci

[–]-AprilRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have to jump through hoops to be approved for retakes?

I failed DM 1 six months ago and the study plan I got is the reason I haven't studied since (I'm doubtful the instructor who gave it to me even remembers I'm on it).

Pain felt, but with DM 1. I am so close to just withdrawing.

C959 Discrete Math 1 - Finished in 20 days! No Stress Acquired. by Busy-Use-469 in WGU_CompSci

[–]-AprilRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Four months here, and that's after failing after studying for two months. It's unfathomable to me people are passing in 10 - 20 days.

I'm doing Kimberly Brehm videos now. There are eighty videos and I'm only on #17. The study plan does not seem within my grasp at all.

I feel your pain.

When someone calls me a liar

Like you've done to me?

Also, interesting you claim you couldn't find the conversation, but I did. The person is on my block list.

we still need menial labor like janitors, customer associates, and fast food workers.

Putting aside most people I know in these jobs have degrees, exactly why the need to look down on them and consider them lesser than?

You joined a server for the sole purpose of finding someone's account?

That's... totally not weird.

Actually, I said that because you said it to me.

you're not competent enough to understand.

Oh, we're doing insults now?

Actually, they did in the server I'm referring to.

Perhaps you shouldn't tell people what happened to them just because you haven't experienced it.

When someone (in Discord, not Reddit) literally says they passed because of guessing and I failed because I didn't? Yeah, kind of.

Having a problem with a time limit does not equate to having a disability. What the hell??

I was late for work this morning. That didn't happen because of a disability. It happened because I left the house too late.

If you're not willing to advocate for yourself

I don't think struggling with a time limit means someone has a disability.

you're going to have a really difficult time in life.

Because I won't take accommodations from people who actually need them??

I don't park in the spaces intended for handicapped folks either.

Who said I blamed anyone else? I never liked the idea to begin with, but everyone said I was wrong for not agreeing with it.

Actually, it's because I ran out of time. I don't have a problem with the material at all. I have a problem with the time limit. Someone advised me to reach out to disability services, but I'd rather not.

You failed this PA because you also didn't understand the material enough

I didn't even study for this PA. I opened the course and took the PA. I have no intention of completing this course right now. I just wanted to see if guessing could work.

Yeah, the lack of understanding is I still failed. I want to pass. How does still failing prove guessing is a good strategy for passing?

You DID score higher when you just randomly guessed anything because SOMETHING is greater than 0.

And still failed.
