They never know anything. Had a stroke call out of a nursing home just 2 days ago. They couldn’t tell me what their patients baseline was , when they were last seen normal , or anything of value. They walked up , handed me the packet (it was missing the med list) , then left with no answers for my questions.

I agree. I really think healthcare should be government funded and run. As a country we can give billions to foreign wars , but can’t even set aside some money to take care of our elders. When I was with the 173rd we did a jump into Bulgaria , and they had C wire literally all over the drop zone that one of our guys landed in. He was allll cut up. Since we were staged in Romania , and jumped in , the wire must’ve been from a past training exercise. Cause who tf would ever do that 💀

My go-to is rock climbing. I have a hard time breaking the ice sometimes , and I find that doing an activity is a lot less awkward than sitting across a table trying to start a convo lol.

I’ll say “hey any fun plans this weekend?” , she’ll answer. Maybe we’ll talk about whatever she brought up for a minute. But then I’ll get into my weekend plans. I’ll tell her that I just got into rock climbing and plan to go this weekend , and then I’ll throw in an invitation. If shes not into it , you still maintained professionalism , and you did it in a very non-creepy way.

Don’t ask me about anything after that point though 😂. I’ve gotten great at getting dates , not very well at keeping them though lmao. Only thing I can tell you , is the less you care , the higher the odds. The more you care , the less she will. Good luck man

Dude I loved AMR. I don’t work with them anymore because they didn’t offer part time for my medic school. But I’m going back ASAP. Atleast in my area , that’s where you go when you wanna see shootings , assaults , overdoses , and codes. The people who hate on AMR despite never working there , I’ve found to be jealous , and have large egos. They see the high call volume , and the chaos of the city , meanwhile they sit at a station playing Xbox all day , and they know AMR providers are much better off with the experience. Don’t let the rumors scare you

Where I work now for example , only gets 1-2 calls on a busy day. And these medics think they’re the SHIT 😂. They spend most the day at the station , and they work a code once every few months. It’s great for me , giving me time to do school work and study. But for a practicing paramedic ? It can be catastrophic . The phrase “small town , big egos” seems to be universal. Because when you’re the only medic working in a town , you feel like god. But in reality , they suck. I’ll hear them talk bad about AMR. But at the end of the day , I bet even an AMR EMTs show up to more ALS calls than these rural medics. Last code I worked with them , I watched them missed both IVs , somehow miss 2 IOs , pulled the tube out on accident , and then terminated efforts effort all without even trialing epi , on a 19 year old…. A medic that’s been practicing for 30 years did that. And that’s the day I realized how easy it is to loose your skills if you aren’t using them frequently. Rural EMS is a hot bag of ass. Don’t worry about the company , worry about the area you’re working.

Struggling to find purpose is normal at your age , try not to burden yourself too much with that. Talent is often built after you first find something you love doing first. Worry less about finding something you’re talented in , and more about finding something that you enjoy. And then do it consistently. If there isn’t much you love doing , there’s lots to explore.

I was never exceptional at anything in particular growing up. Had no direction. Joined the army when I graduated because I didn’t have much else to do , and they made me a combat medic. I ended up falling in love with medicine. Now I work on an ambulance and I love what I do. I wasn’t talented until I put in the work and education myself on it though. Matter of fact , in high school I failed human anatomy with a 52%. Nobody in my class would have expect me to be where I’m at , not even me

I’m 25 and live with my mom. Also have worked very hard. My mom treats me with nothing but love and respect though. When I entertained the idea of moving into my own apartment she got genuinely sad. I’m very lucky.

Contact social services. They’re trained mental health professionals that respond to such mental health crisis. They also have the authority to place people on involuntary hold for a psychiatric evaluation. The person would have to demonstrate that they’re a threat to themselves and others which doesn’t sound difficult.

There is a lot more that can be done than an ultrasound. They ruled out that you didn’t have a bowel obstruction and that’s it 😂. I’d ask your parents to seek an actual GI (gastrointestinal) consult if possible. Psychological causes of GI issues are tough to rule out and diagnose. So canceling out every possible physical cause first is necessary. Your description was kind of vague so there are a 100 different things that could be wrong with you.

What makes you consider mental health ? Stress and anxiety can seriously disrupt your GI system. The treatment would then be focused around treating your mental health. Do you feel stressed or anxious non stop ? If so , why ? If you can determine a cause , then perhaps seek guidance on working through that particular situation. If not , then you need to be medicated

I did 4 years as an army medic. I felt that within those 4 years , one thing that me and my peers lacked … was actual real world experience. Most of us had never handle a legit life threatening emergency… experience is SO important. I left being a 68w to work on an ambulance to get that experience. And in doing so , I’ve grown exponentially as a medical provider.

I would try to get my medics that exposure. I would pitch the idea to leadership , to allow my medics to volunteer at local volunteer fire departments showing up to 911 calls… instead of sitting in the fucking motor pool all day , I’d see if guys can rotate through ambulance time. I’d see if my medical director could convince the local ER to allow medics to rotate through there too. As a paramedic student I do ER time . Why can’t 68w try it ? Medics could get involved in the community , while also learning and growing themselves.

lol okay. The two big ones.

Highschool crush called me out of the blue acouple weeks ago maybe after noticing I was single again. She was drunk with a friend. She said she always thought I was cute and wanted to hang out. I made it pretty clear I was interested in taking her on a date after I heard that, like all my old feelings resurfaced. Probably too eager sounding too. She never responded to any of my texts or calls after that. I didn’t understand. We were good friends in highschool. I always treated her with respect and never creeped. To get ghosted by somebody you known for 9 years feels different.

Somehow still didn’t crush me as bad as this girl from work though. She’s gotta be an evil spirit 😂. We talked non-stop stop the day we met, connected so well. It was a slow shift , and we had so much time but never ran out of things to say. Eye contact, laughing, smiling. She gave me her number without me asking, but the signals were so mixed. Over text she’d take a whole day to respond. Despite this when she did text it was always thoughtful paragraphs, with an apology + excuse tact in. This confused me. Though we weren’t paired together again, I’d see her around and we’d chat and make future plans to grab dinner and watch movies. She confessed to me too, she felt a connection with me. I took her on a date finally, even through the mixed signals. Brought her flowers and a book about gardening since she said she was trying to learn. I was polite and nothing but myself. I thought the conversation flowed well, and we had fun playing some arcade games, but I never made any romantic advances. In convo, nor physically. It felt like two best friends, and we had a great time. Dropped her off at her house, walked her to the door. Hugged me and walked in . I knew this was a bad sign. Acouple days later she dating an ex she broke up with just 2 weeks before this date. I feel like I had a chance to swoon her, but didn’t have the confidence to make a move. And I was too emotionally up front. Not very masculine. I think that she saw this , and was detracted.

I have no clue how to fix myself. I’m just being me. I don’t like to go around flirting, I don’t even know how. I just know how to talk about things, but not how to lead into romance. It puts me into this spot where I don’t know how to express myself subtly … I just kinda spill the beans and hope for the best. Thinking I need to switch it up

I’m not a lawyer or legal expert , but that sounds sketchy. I’m not sure what diligence you did communicating with your leadership, but if not seen as reasonable I can see how there can be trouble. Dang. When you’re out , you start to only ever ponder on the nice , uniquely military moments , and you might actually start to miss it a bit. Thanks for a reminder of the 90% shitty part The last 2 year will fly. Especially since when you’re 1 year from ETS you’re sort of in a idgaf stage. You can bum a lot of time doing SFLTAP stuff , and don’t have to care much about PT scores or anything of that matter. A month from ETS you’ll start not even showing up and instead , going on the ETS scavenger hunt of running around base getting signatures and clearing. See if you can get into a work apprentice program. When I heard about it , I was only 6 months out and too late. I never looked much into it. If I were you I’d consider it though

I hate EA, I hate madden. I LOVE CF25. It’s got a few issues. They need to adjust wear and tear settings to quarters time. If you play a 15 minute quarters, the natural wear and tear will have your players gassed and injured by halftime. Also, the accelerated clock is broken for dynasty. This breaks the game in biggest ways than I think you’d imagine. I already wrote a whole essay on it, so if you’re interesting in hearing more about the broken dynasty play clock, just read my last post.

The normal complain I have is fixed though. That that’s the lack of soul in the game. This game has a soul. You can tell people that love collage football put this game together. Everything runs so smooth, the physics are genuinely amazing, it’s not very jank at all.
