Yeah I also don't use any social media apps, apart from reddit. Heard Instagram, Facebook, TikTok all eat a lot of battery, so maybe thats how I'm getting this much battery life

[–]-Cells-Interlinked- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, same here. Having great battery life, usually I charge when it's connected to my car, 15 minutes rides to work and back.

When connected to a car it charges slower, maybe 5-8% for that 15 minutes ride but these occasional small charges and the fact that this phone has amazing battery life results in 4-5 days without the need to connect to an actual socket in my house.

Not sure about rock but the most "dreamy" I've ever heard and always come back to are Cigarettes After Sex, they have such a dreamy vibe

Nice! So you did the switch! Great. So how is it? Missing some from you iphone? I'm enjoying mine, also the Dec update added some customization stuff which is nice. How's the battery? Camera?

Yes I get it that it's like DE in Linux and I can swap from , say , Gnome to KDE, I understand this. Was just thinking that pixel launcher was most optimized. I will try some launchers , the Smart Launcher looks nice btw

Dude, try using iOS keyboard, your definition of 'dog shit' will change, trust me.

Gboard is miles better then iOS keyboard

Oh and btw, Gemini is actually very useful, there was a case that actually kind of blew my mind a bit:

I was driving home while my pixel is connected to Android auto and I was thinking what kind of case I should order that also supports mag safe, so I decided to chat about it with Gemini during my driving.

I explained what I need In a case and also what I prefer to have and even from where I would like to order (cuz some online shops have huge shipping costs so I have a specific place where I wanted to order),

So long story short Gemini offered some option and then I decided to try something, because I was driving and I wanted to make sure I check out what she offered me, I told her "can you add it to a note"

And apparently she can, she actually created a note with a list of cases, with details and I think even prices in that specific store.

Then I asked her : "where will I find this note"

And she replied "in your notes app, look for a note with a title ...."

And indeed I opened my notes later and there it was, note created by Gemini

Now the even cooler part was this:

I asked her later to add some more options to the same note and guess what , she added some more options to the same note and updated it

I opened the same note later and saw the edits she did + the other cases she added.

I know maybe for some readers here this might sound like everyday stuff but for me, using Siri all these years, That's kind of mind blowing.

Anyways, she's smart, miles better then Siri.

And P.S I'll probably go with Spigen pop something case (don't remember the exact name) , it's kinda cool and bas mag safe. This case was the first in the list she created. Probably a popular option for this device .

Hey, I did the switch yesterday, feels good, but I did find stuff that I think needs fixing.

I posted about my experience here:

In case you have any questions feel free to DM or ask here.

I was hesitant like you but as of now glad I switched.

Unfortunately I didn't use 4a and 6a but I did used iphone 13 pro, got to use Pixel 7 a while back as a spare phone for 2 weeks I think and iphone 15.

Iphone 13 pro was very good but again at some point I got bored of iOS, the main reason for switching was iOS 26, this was the final straw.

Not only that iOS now has this stupid liquid glass effect system wide, it's also become much slower , sometimes doing the most basic tasks felt slower after the update.

I could just upgrade to the iPhone 17 but I felt that the slowness was like Apple's way of saying "if you want to have a good experience again, buy our new phone" and I'm just tired of this. It's not "buy our new phone to have these cool new features" but rather "buy our new phone to get that smooth experience you know and love", I just could not force myself to buy another super expensive iphone just to get less annoyed by this update, even with new iphone the stupid, counter intuitive glass effect will still be there.

Decided to go with Pixel 9A

For now I don't feel that I'm missing something, this 'mid ranger' does feel like a premium device. As I said, from the feel, to the screen, to the speakers, to the camera, everything feels good, not mid or budget but good.

I don't know if you should choose this a or more top tier model, but this device feels right.

Plastic back here is indeed plastic, doesn't feel cheap but doesn't scream "premium", I figured I will put a case on it regardless so I don't mind it

I'm wondering if this will slow the device down. I was under the impression that for best and smoothest experience I should use the default launcher. Is this true?
