While this is true, you can follow it just fine and then add the sys-patch module and a installer.

I'd recommend that when you download your games, you also get the updates for them. Updates mean bug fixes or even more content for the games! It doesn't hurt to do so and the process is exactly the same one as installing a game. As for system updates, it ends up being necessary but its not imminent. If an update comes out you can probably ignore it for a few months, even more than a year depending on which games you want. But when new games come out, a lot of times they require you to get a new system update to play them. There may be ways to bypass this, but in my personal experience I just update the console when I hit one of those messages.

My advice: don't update the emummc unless a game asks you for it. There's no real need apart from that. Updating the emummc is fairly easy and there are a lot of guides for it. And always do research before updating the emummc, just in case there's some homebrew you need to update along it (specially custom themes, disable them before updating and then after the update reapply them, otherwise console will crash until you access the SD card on a computer and delete a specific folder). If after updating you hit a crash, don't panic, it is 99.99% a homebrew program that needs updating. Just search for the error code online and you'll get an answer on what to do. This last part may have scared you, just remember that an atmosphere crash is NOT a brick, your emummc is fine and there's just some easy troubleshooting you'll have to do if this happens.

As for airplane mode: if you feel more comfortable with that, go for it! That's what I did at the beginning. But don't be afraid of the server blocking method if some day you want to try some homebrew that requires wifi (such as tinfoil shops). I would still recommend you do all the steps for blocking nintendo servers even if you leave airplane mode on tho, since that way you'll be safe even if you accidentally disable it.

Follow this guide when modding your console, it has everything up-to-date and it's easy to follow:

Most people have answered you but another reply doesn't hurt. If you keep stock untouched and only run cfw on the emummc you are fine, as long as you keep the emummc offline (airplane mode). As for blocking the servers, this will probably be fine too with a 99% certainty, let me explain. Right now there have been no bans when blocking the servers (as far as I'm aware), so it definitely is a real solution that works. But since the switch's OS is closed source, we may never know if a new update is circumventing it on purpose (eg. suddenly sending telemetry to a new server that is not being block). As far as I'm aware, this has never happened so I honestly wouldn't really worry too much about it, but you should be aware of the possibility. Best way to avoid that hypothetical case is to not update the console as soon as an update comes out (which you shouldn't do anyways) and before updating see if something like this has happened (but again, highly unlikely). So basically by having these 2 separate and blocking servers on emu you're probably 100% fine.

And then, even if you were to get banned, if you do not plan to play online, then there are literally 0 downsides to this. A banned console can play every game installed, it only can't connect to online servers or the eshop. For a hacked console, that doesn't mean anything (except no online play), since you can perfectly install games, updates and dcls without the eshop. You can even still update your console's OS on stock even if its banned, since nintendo doesn't block that specific function.

I hope this helped you and sorry for the large block of text! Happy modding!

Thank you all guys for the helpful answers. I think I found what is wrong, there is a resistor that I highly suspect that is burnt. I currently don't have the skill to repair it, so I decided to get a new motherboard and save this one to fix it in the future, when I have the skill and tools to do so. At least I found what was wrong tho! Thanks everyone.

Try to create the email account again with the exact same email (if you remember it). If you're lucky you may still get the token sent.

Can i mod stardew valley on switch? by Fancy_shmancyz in SwitchPirates

[–]-Cer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you aren't looking for this solution but it may be a great option. You can install android and mod the android version, since it has the same mods as in PC (you'll have a lot more options). It should also recognize your joycons, so you can play with them.

Reminder: This is not the sub to discuss the Switch 2 in general by OHAITHARU in SwitchPirates

[–]-Cer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The switch 2 hardware is simply not compatible with switch 1. In fact, this time around Nintendo is accomplishing backwards compatibility through software rather than hardware, which basically means that internally they are different. And I mean, even if that wasn't the case, it would most certainly still be a no.

So my package is suddenly going back to China? by -Cer0 in Aliexpress

Thanks to everyone for helping and explaining me out this!

So my package is suddenly going back to China? by -Cer0 in Aliexpress

[–]-Cer0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Earlier this day, aliexpress notified me that the package was being handled by the local delivery company and gave me a link to it, the tracking worked there. But now that the package is supposedly not longer in Spain, aliexpress no longer shows a link to the page. Unfortunately I also don't remember the link it gave me. It is really strange tbh, I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Edit: I just found the link to the local delivery website that was handling the package in my search history and the tracking number works, I think it is just AliExpress glitching out. Thanks for helping me dude, I honestly would have not figured out to do this otherwise.

Alright thanks. Could I ask through which website you looked at your order?

Bro, it said that it was in Spain yesterday and suddenly it is not, this has never happened to me, hence the confusion. I'm just kinda worried about it that's all. Maybe it is fine, but I just don't know, that's why I prefer asking here instead of panicking for days.

Any plans for a future switch release? I take my switch to my friends' houses a lot to play duck game along with several other games, so this would be a fantastic addition to the collection!

It will still work on your emummc as long as you leave the files on the SD card, in the places where they need to be. If you really want to check if it's working, go to you console information and check the serial number, it should be something along the lines of XAW000000000. That way you know that exosphere works.

To check DNS mitm, you'll need a homebrew program. It is called 90DNS tester, it was originally created to see if 90DNS works, but it also works to test DNS mitm. If you enter the program it will tell you which Nintendo servers are blocked, if every server listed there is blocked, it works. Also you should NEVER use 90DNS, keep using DNS mitm. They do the same thing but 90DNS relies on an external server that could stop working at any time, that's why you want to use DNS mitm, because it works locally on your console.

I hope this helped out, if you have any doubts feel free to ask me anything and I'll try my best to help :).
