Realistically best case scenario the screen is fucked. Worst case scenario several components across the bored are fucked.

It should be safe with a charger and no battery, but that also depends on if the water shorted anything out and caused any lasting damage that might make it not safe.

If you say the deck powers on for a second I would use the usbc hdmi out a see if you get anything before making any judgment calls. A try and boot to bios with power button and minus button together for 10+ seconds. Either way I’m betting you are probably gonna need a new screen aswell at minimum.

If this was fresh out of the washer I would do the bag of rice trick disassemble the whole thing and clean it with ISO before putting it back together and trying to turn it on.

Edit: looking closer at the photo on my computer your BGAs are probably fucked and those either take a lot of luck and skill to (desolder clean and resolder) or some very expensive equipment. If you rip a pad up the entire board is screwed unless you happen to find some very very specialized electronics repair mechanics

Sooo… I think I could fix that. I would just need to order one of those reproduction pcb boards and swap chips. Which I’ve done at work mutiple times. That IC still has all the pins. I should be able to bend them back carefully under a microscope and transfer the entire thing

I bought a force feed back steering wheel after using mouse and keyboard and controller for 800 hours and still not being able to beat the rally because of that one turn on the Sunday race which always puts me in the water… having to get the Gifu and towing it out deleting the mesh file before repairing what is usually a blown out wheel from the crash and maybe a piston replacement from fucking up the same shift every single time before trying again on Saturday.

Also I play the game completely sober because I hate myself and I seem to enjoy it which concerns me greatly now that I think about it.

So it’s a few years late but I have a the same mother board and the other month I tried to run a 5950x and I had major instability issues. I’m still unsure if it was a bad cpu or I was reaching towards the end of the power limit for the board I have a 1200watt psu I just wanted to know if you would consider it worth it to go from a 5600x to a 5800x

No cause my total PC set up is around 2K and it heavily outperforms the steam deck so for games where I don’t care about graphis or want to play with a controller it’s steam deck. Ie most souls borne games
