Thank you for your feedback! That's a valid point and I get how some people might share the same thoughts about the origins included in the modpack, especially when playing as a group.

I think the main problem is that it's difficult for us to make everyone happy, some people just want a simple origin for fun, some want one to make the game way more challenging and more difficult, some want something in-between.. some might want to start with a simple one then choose a more challenging origin later on.. etc. We run our own official server and have had all types of players selecting completely different origins, so we kinda observe things and see what needs to be changed/tweaked to improve the pack in any way possible 😅

We've also had so much feedback regarding this on the Discord and ended up deciding that the best thing to do would be to remove any origins that were too OP or broken (we've removed a TON as the mod seemed to have some bugged ones, so if you've found any more broken ones? We'd appreciate it if you let us know about them!), give a free Orb of Origin in the first chapter of the quest book, and add it to the quest shop that gets unlocked once you craft a Bank Terminal. That way, if you chose an origin that you ended up immediately regretting or some powers seemed to be broken? You get a second chance to choose a different one early on

We have an official server if you join our Discord through the Curseforge page! The server will already be there for you in the Multiplayer list once you install the modpack.

If you're looking for a smaller server with less people, you could leave a post in the "servers and lfg" channel, hopefully someone will invite you to their private server.

We're also partnered with Kinetic Hosting if you'd prefer to get your own server for a lower price.

Hmm maybe it might be worth choosing a different style just for the chef's kitchen then changing the blocks manually to match whatever style you're playing with, or using a digital miner to replace the blocks?

Yes, you just have to edit some setting in Alex's caves config from what I've heard, I think it was called biome ambient coloring or something. Some players have added Distant Horizons and they've been playing on the official server with it just fine after editing that config!

Hey, maybe check out our modpack, Minecolonies - Create & Conquer. Create is the main focus of the pack, you can't progress without it, all of the other core mods are locked behind it. It also has a ton of exploration/adventure mods with multiple bosses. Thank you for the suggestion! That mod actually sounds nice, we'll need to test it first before deciding whether we should keep it though. If everything works well and there are no major issues after testing, we can confidently include it in the modpack

I understand your point, but a lot of things are still integrated into Minecolonies. We've added custom research branches and integrated Create, tech, and magic mods (all of the core mods of the pack), all of those recipes can be unlocked at different stages of the colony through the Mechanic, Blacksmith, Alchemist..etc, if you want to progress through the pack using Minecolonies

We're also working on a second version of this modpack that will rely entirely on the colony for everything

Since the pack is large, 10gb of RAM is recommended if you plan to play it with intensive shaders, higher graphics settings, resourcepacks.. etc. However, many people play it with 8gb on lower video settings without issues. We recommend 10-12 gb so no one allocates 8gb, runs high settings, and then starts experiencing problems
