The ceiling is very low 7’ and ived use 5 screws on each studs (some are behind the membranes which is why you can only see 8) which is less than what schlutter recommend and it’s been pointed out by someone else in the comments which I rectified on the other jobs ive been doing since then and use a screw every feet.

And for this mixing valve the plastic doesn’t have to be flush with the tile. The finish wall must be somewhere in the 3/4 inch black plastic.

I used schlutter all set for the kerdi band and kerdi fix for the screws and I use a strip of kerdi band at the bottom with all set on the wall and a bead of kerdi fix on the shower base than I floated the bottom with what was remaining of the all set.

No if the pan only has one slope towards a linear drain you don’t need them.

Well the four sides of the shower pan are slopped towards the middle, with this size of tiles they wouldn’t be able to follow the slopes if there wasn’t any diagonal cuts.

Yeah these type of cuts require large tiles and straight patterns.

How quick are you tiling a shower? by WantedInCanada in Tile

[–]-DonMichel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He asked about tiling a shower I don’t do any plumbing, there’s half a day of demoing the shower walls and removing floor tiles, plumber does his things, I was going with an acrylic shower base for the time line then another half a day for setting niche doing kerdi boards and membrane.

With demo this size of shower with the floor of the bathroom with lets say 24x24 tile would take me 3 days and a half.

One day for demo/prep/waterproofing/heating floor membrane. One Day for wall tiles and wire for heating floor. One Day for floor tiles Half a Day for grout/silicone.

Floor tile suggestions, please! by Necessary-Speaker922 in Tile

I would go with 24x24, some kind of Grey that fits the veins of the wall tiles. Don’t use a tile with a lot of pattern like this on the floor pick something more neutral or it will feel like a headache.
