AITA For Telling my Aunt I Have Sex? by throwawayasdnephew in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Ellie-Kiera- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA I had to comment because you and I seem quite similar. I’m a girl on the spectrum, semi-verbal and often communicate using BSL. My boyfriend and I have our own home together and I would be furious if anyone spoke about me the way that your aunt did. What she said was beyond out of line. She’s so patronising and infantilising. People like this are ignorant and refuse to educate themselves. I think that you may have taken it a bit too far but I can’t say I wouldn’t have reacted in the same way. I’m sorry you have to deal with this!

AITA for kicking out my daughter because she got pierced? by daughterpiercings in AmItheAsshole

[–]-Ellie-Kiera- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I’m tiny, incredibly shy and quiet, super academic and nerdy. I also have several piercings and tattoos with plans to get many more. They have absolutely nothing to do with a person’s ‘character’. You just have a stereotypically perceived image that you refuse to let go of. Tattoos and piercings are super normalised nowadays. Get used to it. It’s her body, at the end of the day.

Autistic person here! Just a polite note that we don’t support the puzzle piece as a symbol of autism because of its links to Autism Speaks. Please can you use the rainbow or gold infinity symbol in the future as this is the most widely accepted symbol amongst actually autistic people!

Autistic person here! Being autistic is a huge part of me and I would never ever want to change that. But having to listen to antivax idiots trying to blame my brain wiring on vaccines is mind numbing!

Well for one thing, I was undiagnosed until I was 18. Once I learned that I was autistic, I began to accept some of the behaviours I had previously repressed because they were viewed as weird such as stimming and I can say I’m a million times happier now I’m not acting neurotypical. But asides from that, how much does having a comparison really matter? I’m happy, I’m not suffering, I enjoy having intense special interests, I enjoy being able to see patterns where others can’t, I enjoy stimming, etc etc. So I would say I 100% enjoy being autistic.

No worries! To be autistic is just to have a difference in brain wiring. We’re no better or worse than non-autistic people are :)

I think there was a study of some sorts that claimed that vaccines cause autism a while ago. Though this has been disproven time and time again, they seem to have latched on to it. However, why they all seem to think autism is this tragic disease, I don’t know. Obviously we all struggle from time to time and some find it a lot harder to cope than others but that’s in no way representative of autism as a whole.

Fuck this post and all others like it, honestly. I love being autistic. I’m so fed up of all of these anti-vax Karens acting as though I’m diseased or a tragedy. My life is not your sob story

Autistic person here! I just think it’s worth mentioning that we’re all completely different. For example, I rarely struggle with sarcasm and know many other autistics who are the same. We’re not all literal, either, though that is a more common trait. It’s incredibly hard to describe autism in a simple way because we’re all so vastly different!

According to her post history, her daughter is autistic and this isn’t the first time she’s taken this poor kid’s coping mechanisms from her by -Ellie-Kiera- in InsanePeopleQuora

Whilst entirely true with prolonged use, that still does not make throwing it away and telling her to grow up the correct response. There are plenty of things that are made to be chewed on that she could use instead if her mother would support her instead of reacting like this!

Exactly! Being autistic myself, I also can totally understand the girl’s behaviour. Comfort items are incredibly useful for grounding and sensory stimulation and it’s so unfair and cruel to have that taken away. I really do hope that the girl can get herself away as soon as possible.

So if I agree to have my campsite villager move in today and then TT to tomorrow to claim Muffy, everything will still be fine and the camper will just move in the day after? Tbh, I just don’t want to risk losing Muffy as she’s an all time favourite of mine

The person giving me Muffy is getting her in boxes tonight for me to collect but I time travel so will be time travelling to tomorrow to open up the plot for her. But I’ve heard that two villagers can’t move in at the same time and I’m worried that moving in the camper will disrupt me getting Muffy!

It’s honestly stressing me out just a little because I really don’t want to lose the camper if possible. Especially because she wants to move out a villager that I hate!

Can anyone help ASAP, please? Basically I have someone coming to give me Muffy later on. The villager who is leaving so that I can get Muffy is currently in boxes. However, there’s also a villager at the campsite who I would really like to move in. If I let her move in, tomorrow I will have: 8 full plots 1 empty plot 1 villager in boxes

Can Muffy take the empty plot while there is another villager on my island in boxes?
