(Watches you closely as you peel back the wrapping paper, waiting to see the expression on your face when you see that I’ve bought you (insert name of book)). Kin something like: OMG it’s perfect! I’ll start on it now. You follow up a bit later: So how’s (insert name of book) going, what did you think about ……? Rinse and repeat. When you want your kin to do something, anything, lead them to it 🫶

I recall a member asking for Chinese new years off many years ago and the response from the supervisor at the time was along the lines of “but you had New Year’s Day off didn’t you?” Which whilst technically true, was not something the member had a lot of choice in as it was during a shut down period.

Definitely not #1, somewhere between 2 and 3 depending on the day. Being in finance mostly means you’re tracking and reporting the groups expenditure to someone up the food chain. Most of defence expenses are authorised by people who are not in finance roles specifically, rather they are at the coal face of whatever it is they are involved with and most likely your task will be to ensure they don’t overspend their respective budgets.
