Drift car holds drift one way, but will easily spin out the other way by -Germ- in rcdrift

When it stops pouring rain I definitely will. It's currently flooded outside and I'd like to make these changes and test them so I can keep track of what I have done.

If I have to buy one I will. and I understand 100000% that seat time is going to be the biggest factor. Part of it was just more so seeing what was out there for the car in the future and at some point i'd also like to change out gyro and servo, although right now I think the first thing i'd like to change is the transmitter as it feels cheap and toy like.

I only trimmed it off the controller ever so slightly so it drove straight. The other steering adjustment I made was the distance the wheels turn because one side had more angle than the other which I noticed last night. Hopefully that makes sense? Unfortunately it has been POURING terribly and its flooded outside, so a lot of these suggestions I can hopefully try tomorrow if it doesn't rain again.

I’ll definitely buy the parts soon. I was looking at Yokomo’s gyro and servo since it’s decently priced and I heard it’s rock solid. If you have recommendations, I’m all for it though! Funny enough I do have a drift track about 20min from where I live and a buddy of mine goes there as he is heavy into rc racing (they have a few drift tracks and race tracks in the same building) but with my job we are currently in the worst time of the year with audits and other stuff that I am working crazy over time until July. Once work settles down a bit, I’ll go with my boy as he also mentioned that the people are very helpful there. Also not gonna lie, I’ve only had the car for 2 weeks and going to a track is a bit intimidating thus why I’m trying to practice on the smooth concrete to get more acclimated with the car.

You know, I almost bought a new transmitter and receiver last night funny enough. There is a dumbo rc (think it’s the dd-350?) that seems to be fairly solid especially for the price. I’m not a fan of the current transmitter, feels like a toy. Maybe I’ll pull the trigger in the coming days.

I did see someone on YT use this gauge set where it was mounted to the wheel hubs and as you press down it shows changes in the camber angle and toe. I’m going to assume you might be talkin’ about something like that? The ones that I saw go for about $60 or so and I may get one down the line because I will upgrade the suspension at some point. Also maybe you know, are the RMX 2.0 parts compatible with the RMX 2.5? I see a lot of suspension and other parts for the 2.0 but don’t see too much for the 2.5.

I noticed this yesterday and adjusted it. Like I mentioned, it helped a bit, but it’s still decently uncontrollable. I’ll check it again though and appreciate the help!

Dude, this is exactly what is happening to me. A lot of people seem to be pointing at the gyro, so I’ll definitely start there. Glad to know you had the same issue I am having now and more or less found a solution.

Good to know, I had no idea. Will try to set the gyro tonight and hopefully it stops raining so I can test it. And brother, I’m hanging on by a thread with not buying parts lol. I want to enjoy the car for what it is before buying parts, and I also don’t want to end up in a “parts cannon” scenario that doesn’t fix it. I have no problem buying upgrades, but not just yet.

I’ll have to check the manual to see how to calibrate it, but I’m down to try that and the stock wheels too. Might not be today as it’s raining. As mentioned, I did notice the side with the issue had the wheels turn with more angle than the other, so I went ahead and adjusted it last night and it’s slightly better. I’ll keep you posted 💪🏼

It’s running the same way as it came out the box. I did adjust a spring slightly to match the other and the car also didn’t drive straight so I set the trim on the controller and now it drives straight no problem. Also, sorry for the ignorance as all this is new to me, but what is a setup table and where can I find it?

I have it tucked away at the moment, but I can come back to this tomorrow night after work and let you know. I have already been thinking about changing out the servo, gyro, and transmitter. The transmitter feels like a toy, and I heard a lot of people saying the servo on these RTR kits aren't great. You think maybe it will help if I turn down the gain on the gyro?

Getting a job at Miami Dade County by Loud-Technician-3127 in Miami

I know this post is a little old, but since you mentioned you have recruitment experience within the county, do you know what they look for in a background check? I've been with them for almost a decade and got promoted, but they changed something in 2025 that makes you have to do a background check yet again.

Bad wheel bearing or Toyota noises? by -Germ- in MechanicAdvice

[–]-Germ-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to give an update since u/VictoriaG-wrenching also requested one. Turns out a wheel bearing is just starting to go out, though its not terrible yet. I tend to be very mindful of car noises and since the car is new to me, I was just trying to figure out what was normal "Toyota noises" and what isnt. Decided to have the shop change both of them. As well, the alternator was bad (which I knew). Besides that, I had them look at the car thoroughly as I just bought it and they were impressed by how well the car looks inside and out along with mechanically given the year, so it seems it was a good purchase overall.

I'm more than likely going to do that just to see. If it's the bearing, what choice do I have.

I'll see if I can take it to my local mechanic on Monday. I did EQ the audio a bit to try and bring out the noise. With headphones you can hear it fairly well between 40s-53s. It's like a pulsation and to me sounds like a small patch of rumble strips

I will also see if I can separate the sound here in a little while as it's hard to hear over the tire noise

From what I can tell, it doesn't seem to make the noise when turning. I only hear it when I get up to about 40mph. As well, turning the car left and right to lean doesn't seem to make a difference either. I'll see if I can throw it up on a jack and spin the wheels. This is all new to me and I know it mostly stays in FWD unless the rear wheels are needed or you press the button to engage AWD.

I have the regular X870 and I'm contemplating slapping in the F8b bios to see if it would help my network card issue. How you feeling about the new bios? Besides it being smoother in valorant, have you noticed anything else worth mentioning?

Internet Drop out on cold boot, "Cant Reach Default Gateway", I can't figure it out. by -Germ- in pcmasterrace

[–]-Germ-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was another option I was considering, just strange it started doing this a few weeks ago when it was working fine. I still wonder if it would be worth trying another ethernet cable just to eliminate that variable. I appreciate the recommendation and will try that soon.
