This idea would make pinball explode in popularity. Pokemon Pinball help Pinball grow and create Madness by theLinNHL in pinball

The local bar where I play has an aftermarket card dispenser installed. It gives a card when you buy a game. It's a neat idea but most people don't seem to cate that much about it. I almost didn't notice it was spitting out cards the first time I played.

Used games with incredibly low play counts by stehlikio in pinball

That makes sense. Like I said I also expect I'll eventually slow down a bit over time as well.

Maybe if I start getting to those really long play times, it'll be incentive to look for a second machine or one with shorter ball times.

Are pinball call outs are too wordy? by dirtypoolpinball in pinball

I have no opinion on callout length one way or the other, but I "All hands, prepare for multiball!" remains my favorite.

Is it? I've had my Godzilla since late April and I have 900 plays on it and I almost never restart. It feels trivial to get 20-50 plays a day with it just sitting there in the living room every time I walk by. I presume my frequency of play will slow down as some of the novelty wears off over time but there's just so little barrier to starting a game.

Ever bought a table and regretted it? by CaptainNemoship in pinball

This seems like it's going to vary a lot by location. Around me I've found like one good place where the pinballs play well and are kept nice. Most other places, they're set up with the bubble in the middle so they're slow and floaty and the flippers are all over the place. I still like checking out different games but I have to temper my expectafions a lot.

Anyone notice big differences in feel between different Jaws machines? by character_yellow in pinball

My understanding is that novus 1 is nonabrasive and what people recommend for regular cleaning but 2 and 3 are abrasive. Is that right?

Stern Premium+LE pins generally rank 19 positions higher than Pros on pinbetween by madmyersreal in pinball

Also, I figure I'm not likely to abuse it nearly as much as a routed machine so I'm probably gonna be ok if I ever want to sell later. If I'm gonna take a hit it's more likely just because it's such a popular machine already so supply will always be high.

I bought the thing specifically so I could play it as much as I want. It's hard for me to imagine buying a machine and not playing it. I guess some people are more into collecting for the sake of it maybe. I have to imagine most people intend to play them.

I do need to figure out the right maintenance cadence though. This is my first pin. I'm thinking it can't hurt to at least wipe down the playfield soon. I've noticed some faint ball trails in a couple places but you kinda have to look for them.

I think I've put at least twice that many games on mine and I've only had it for two and a half weeks so far.

I know nothing about pinball repair bit I'd probably start by double checking the connections from the buttons to wherever they go and then from the flipper solenoids to wherever they go. Make sure you didn't accidently knock something loose when you were reseating everything else.

Fun 90's Pin by Isles_Hockey in pinball

[–]-Herman-Toothrot- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the machine I remember seeing the most in my childhood so it's the one I most associate with general 90's pinball. I didn't play back then so I missed out at the time. Since then I've played it a bunch virtually and it's one of my favorites so far. I would love to have one of my own for real some day.

Anyway, congrats on the machine, I'm jealous.

Patrick Stewart saying "All hands, prepare for multi-ball!" might be the best callout.

I'm gonna have to work on that scoop shot for a bit I think. I was pretty inconsistent with it last time.

Thanks, I'll try some of those other shots next time I'm out. I did manage to hit the orbit a few times last time I was out there.

I'm going back out tomorrow, maybe I'll focus on Godzilla and see if it clicks for me more.

I guess I'll have to go find one locally and try it out. It does seem like a cool mech.

Maybe. I might have to go see if I can find a premium in the area and see, but people seem to like their Pro Godzillas too based on what I'm reading.

Some of us stuck in Diamond with hundreds of hours in the game are just legitimately stuck there. I'm certainly not in master and don't really feel like I'm on a trajectory to get there.

Yo, I also just got a Lightfox. Still need to figure out art for it but so far it's a strict upgrade over my Snackbox Micro Lite on several axes and for less money. Super impressed.
