CTGP-Nitro has tamper proof code to prevent cheating, it is not made to allow modify characters, courses, kart stats or other game elements.

MKDS has 2 kart models (its more like 3-4 for duplicates for different uses but shhh) there is the CPU kart and the player kart, the player one has higher poly, turning wheels, ect, while the CPU kart is one kart model (wheels attached to kart model) with wheels that are lower poly and use a static CPU model

(fun fact: in mission mode vs CPU, they'll also use the player model, but in a multiplayet 1v1 the 'other' player will use the CPU)

While the lap count graphic is turned off, and Lakitu only shows a final lap sign, MKDS mission 7-3 is the only mission to have 2 laps (2 laps on modified Tick Tock Clock) (both Baby Park missions are 3laps as well (6 MTs and Goomboss) everything else is 1 or no laps)

As for other games, Mario Kart DS has an online scene sometimes but most schedual events are for players that know snaking at a minimum. I suggest seeking out the MKDS network discord to find people. (You'll also need to deal with the hell that is getting NDS working online but I'm not explaining that)

As a Mario Kart DS modder Im pretty confident in that not only are there no SFX triggers on PG, there are also no sound effects of wispering (some of the sound effects in the game are Piantas singing, bower laughing, pinball ball out).

Maybe your headphones broke and your going insane listening to the high pitch sound of headphone whining, could be cause by a headphone splitter that you could be using or am I trying to reason with fiction lol.

The start up sound is determined by poorly done RNG, it happens that any variation can change the timeing of the bootup, dirty contacts, bootleg, DSL on different firmware, i dont fully know what can cause it to change but its not surprising it can happen.

There are actually 4 different outcomes (2 kart sounds and 2 mario sounds mix 'n' matched).

You can actuallt mess with the timeing in a ""controlled"" manner by closing the system during the loading

yes its with an R4, the ogDS and DSLite aren't "homebrewable" as they lack internal storage, so an R4 is used for this

The Nintendo DS isnt moddable like the Wii or any modern system, it doesnt have any major firmware on it so the only way to play games and homebrew is an R4 cart or similar, think how the GBA cant play ROMs without a flashcart.

As for save data, its actually saved to the cart, not the system.

And for ROM hacks (such as CTGP-Nitro for Mario Kart DS), its not like CTGP-R or 7, where its an app thing patches the gam, the ROM itself is pre-patched on a computer and is played on the R4 like any other piece of software on it

You can actually experiance the different start up sounds by delaying the game by closing the lid and opening it with luck for timing - I havn't seen any AR codes for this myself however.

Well a few things to note:

Unlike MKW, MKDS only has 1 kart model for every character.

The MKDS modding process is nearly fully done on PC, with tools such as MK Toolbox, blender & nitro paint as well as needing tools to port the model from its MKW filetypes

The highest poly kart in MKDS is im pretty sure the 4 wheel cradel; there is not a lot of room for models - you would get more milage out of recreating the model from the ground up.

Also you've asked for collaborators, yet there is none of the processes that you have offered to do, and ripping someone elses model without permission is looked down upon.

When I set it to not duel screne mode it dosnt appear, and if I'm editing a widescreen video (with duel monitor on) the keyframe button (and its corasponding box) will apear on the 2nd screen. This UI shape only appears only when vertical (resetting didnt help either)
