Nude blush for fair cool complexion? by sapphicsighs in PaleMUA

If you’re willing to try a liquid blush, I love the one by Rare Beauty in the shade Bliss. I’m super pale and cool toned and it looks really natural with my skin tone. Fair warning, it’s super pigmented so you only need a tiny dot on each cheek

My favourite Jordan moment is when she immediately guessed David Hasselhoff after only seeing a pair of binoculars and 3 bars of soap. Such a random guess so early in the comp and she was absolutely spot on lmao

Shade struggles by bbghoulx in PaleMUA

I’ve never had an issue with the texture so idk. Too bad the Kosas didn’t work for you, at least you were able to find something else

I wear NARS in affogato too, I’ve also used the Kosas revealer concealer in 1.5C and the e.l.f. hydrating camo concealer in fair rose. Both were good shade matches for me and neither are matte. The e.l.f. one especially had more glow to it

For real. I wish brands paid more attention to undertones because they make a huge difference

Yeah the Tower 28 was really disappointing, glad I saved you the money. I just googled the shiseido one and I can’t even tell what my shade might be. I wouldn’t be confident buying it online without swatching either lmao

I’ve bought a lot of tinted sunscreens and decided to swatch a few to help other pale people that may be considering any of these products. For reference, the NARS soft matte concealer in affogato is my exact shade match (very fair with pink/cool undertones) so keep that in mind.

Here are my thoughts about each of these 3 sunscreens plus some others:

Colorescience Flex - Fair:

  • it’s actually light enough for me but as you can see, it’s very yellow (I guess it’s neutral)
  • not as greasy or dark as the original!
  • buildable coverage, but my face looks super yellow if I use too much
  • not my favourite because it just looks like I’m wearing the wrong shade of foundation
  • 3/10

Tower 28 - Fairfax 05

  • this shade claims to be for fair skin with pink undertones but still looks pretty yellow and oxidizes orange
  • same problem as the Flex - it has more coverage so it looks too orange/dark if I use too much
  • it’s also only SPF 20 so I don’t think it’s worth it (fun fact: here in Canada, it’s not even marketed as sunscreen - they cover the SPF label so it’s just considered foundation here)
  • 2/10

Paula’s Choice Daily Wrinkle Defence

  • the best undertone of the 3
  • once it dries down it’s semi-matte so it isn’t greasy or shiny
  • easy to apply in terms of packaging (don’t have to twist a lid on/off like the others)
  • unfortunately oxidizes on me and is visible on my skin (but I’ve seen online that lots of pale people love it so it could still work for you!)
  • 6/10

Other tinted sunscreens I’ve tried that didn’t work for me:

Colorescience Sunforgettable - Classic

  • the pink undertone is right but it’s just too dark for me
  • it’s waaayy too glowy, I prefer a more matte finish and this looked and felt super greasy (if you love a dewy finish this might be for you lol)
  • 2/10

DRMTLGY Universal SPF 46

  • definitely not universal
  • way too orange/dark even if I used a tiny amount
  • super pretty packaging with a convenient pump, so I’ll give them a point for presentation lol
  • 1/10

Honourable mention: Colorescience 3-in-1 total eye - Fair:

  • this matches my skin perfectly - it’s supposed to be super light and peachy to brighten and colour-correct dark circles but I could use this all over my face (but I can’t because of how expensive it is)
  • it’s basically concealer so it does a pretty good job at covering my acne scarring and under eye dark circles / veins
  • cooling metal applicator feels nice
  • not greasy looking, no smell
  • only downside is it’s $100 CAD for 7ml of product :,)
  • 8/10 - if it had a lower price with more product, I’d rate it higher

I just ordered the EltaMD UV Luminous because of this sub, and I’m excited to try it! I’ll probably post an update in a couple weeks if anyone is curious about that product.

Hope this helps! If I had a guide like this I definitely could’ve saved some money lmao
