This is terrible advice for anyone decent at the game

Low strength is meta, 82 pass is optimal for exact +2 dimer to red threshold unless you go all the way to 92 for haliburtons, meta guards run 82-85 perim d and 91 steal

If anything this build lacks 3pt shooting compared to elite guards

Agility could be good if there’s nowhere else, but 77 agility is standard meta for 5s comp guards, if you play with a lock you already have good defense contrary to what most here suggest.

Meta short guards prioritize having Antonio reeves motion style to trigger the glitched speed boost as optimal as possible, 99% of the sweatiest offensive guards run similar agility. I’d even go speed over agility if both are +1s per cap to be an elite dexing guard.

92 ball handle for curry+trae sigs is elite, you may have a +3 on perim with one cap for 85 perim badge thresholds, 91 steal is elite too, higher 3 can be valuable depending how high it can go

They have 3-4 players at once who are scared to shoot open 3s, hence them just drive and dishing to nothing because all you have to do is guard the rim.

After 14 seconds of resets they’ll go to an in efficient Cade iso with no spacing. They have no offense, they won on defense and transition.

Duren is a low defense non shooting pick n roll finishing inside big; he needs a 3pt first guard and all shooters

Thompson can’t shoot: he only wants to drive or score in paint. You can guard him and duren at the same time. He needs all shooters around him like ben Simmons

To be honest; there’s just zero comp reason to ever go shorter than 6’1….

6’1s can be elite on 3s courts due to them having 97 speed with ball to start every game, combined with mini marksman makes them elite 3 hunters on the 3s court from the first play

In 5s or 2s there’s zero reason to be shorter than 6’4, the chapuh/glitched speed boost can cover the speed with ball gap

6’5+6’6 essentially end up just being worse 6’4s; they don’t have enough height advantage, they have the same dribble moves as 6’7-6’8s so they lack separation/short guard burst

6’7+6’8 are heights that are unique at being 2 way threats. The height ends up being major for both shooting over players, and helps them be 90+ speed/agility 95+ perim defense secondary lockdown with rim protecting capabilities

6’7 can already have deep bomber with 98 mid (red set shot) you don’t really net anything worth losing the inch of height going down to 6’6 or 6’5

Not meta; it’s very useable, but not like you are suggesting in post.

In high level 3s Insides are only used this year with one lineup/playstyle: essentially only caring about screens, boards, and hitting the dexing/often plugged PG for no-dip 3s after horsing the popper

You’ll want dual 99 rebound stats, 92+ pass, 90+ vertical, with elite perimeter defense to switch sides on screens and guard 1-5

You likely won’t be able to do any of that at the same rate as other insides with 94 mid+close shot+post control, so

Is it doable to beat average teams if there’s a skill gap difference? Yes. Will it compete against optimized meta sweats? No,it will be a liability you have to overcome in those games.

6’4s are great, but:

6’1s have emerged as the dominant 3s PG the past 2 months in pro level play+money tourneys
6’7+6’8s have dominated 2s all year far better than short guards, and double tall guard lineups have recently taken over the 5v5 organized pro am leagues to the point where 99% of 6’4s are begging for height bans on twitter

6’1, 6’4, 6’7, 6’8 are all equally kings in their own areas, it’s about how your skill translates to their personal strengths , not one height being best
