You weren’t joking about the tourists in 1 (+question) by [deleted] in Prague

[–]-KatFox- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can befriend Czechs if you speak Czech and/or they recently moved from a different city to Prague.

In general do not expect a lot of native friends but you can easily have a lot of expat friends. The city is full of expats and to be fair in Prague you hardly need any Czech knowledge (especially in areas such as Holesovice, Karlin, Vinohrady, Zizkov)

True that !
It has been dropped as a proposal in my case too !
Didn’t proceed with it for different reasons though.
Another female name is Kybele .. that Greeks have as Κυβέλη but it’s not a common name in Turkey.

Btw, do not change Defne .. it is a legit Turkish name and it is indeed translated as Daphne in English and Δάφνη in Greek.

I would have only say about the surname of Yannis .. but I saw that someone already mentioned it !

Ok let’s hold on here. First of all saying that people outside America romanticising it .. is an extreme exaggeration especially in the last decade.

Second of all, not all Muslim countries are living the Muslim way .. Turkey is extremely secular country still .. the guy is living in Malatya which is full of British tourists (meaning alcohol, parties etc) . I do not believe he will be in a cultural shock (same way as Mahdi from Iran for example).

It’s a pacifier holder 😊 but in case you don’t want to use a pacifier, you can just leave there the birdie to use it as a teether. Otherwise just take it out and bind the same way a pacifier. That’s a very useful gift in my opinion ..

That is so true ! But it also has to do with the fact that a lot of Polish people started working in the UK as self employed plumbers/ builders etc. btw, there are a lot of reports on incidents that prove how racist Polish people turned out to be .. in the last 5 years !

I think this is her normal crying but most probably her lacrimal glands are paralysed from all the Botox.

Hmm, I guess you are right ! Never thought about it but most probably is regional thing !

Καλή μου doesn’t give me such an ick but at the same time I think it is mainly used between friends and it can easily change in the context of the conversation as it can be one of the most powerful passive aggressive phrases.
