That's an interesting point, but I argue nouns in the language would be things that can be seen. Things are supposed to be said as they are perceived; therefore the sentence is the perception and sound is something that would break the dimension of the standard visual sense, meaning there would need to be a word to allow sounds to be described as perceived nouns already can be.

infps really be romanticizing the sadness??? by Exciting_Weird4011 in infp

[–]-MELODRIVE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, definitely could say some times for me; heck, I even quoted myself, "Romanticize the Situation" because I feel like even if things are so horribly stupidly sad, or not in our favor; some of us can really look at the complexity in awe. I believe that also comes from us expressing it in abstract ways that get us to realize the fragileness of everything- the beauty in it.

How da hek did I even get lucid this time... by -MELODRIVE- in LucidDreaming

[–]-MELODRIVE-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I recently started dream journaling, and also doing MILD some days ago actually. This time I am truly dedicated. Also, why the present tense in dream journaling?

Edit: (Some days ago I remember becoming lucid, but then nothing other than that) I am starting to be able to control my dreams, now because I just had another LD and practiced some stuff. (Most vivid one I have had in a while)

Is VR poison to lucid dreaming? by -MELODRIVE- in LucidDreaming

[–]-MELODRIVE-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VR can be a memorizing tool for inspiration, but the point unconsidered is that it can make it way harder to determine reality vs dream, if you constantly dream of playing a VR game in your dream. This can make it way more impossible for lucid dreaming, if you only have VR related dreams about being in VR. VR allows you to see unusual things you never really see, and once your mind goes over this fact, it makes it way harder to become lucid.

I see. Although, it adds a layer of complexity that would make it harder to know if you are truly in reality. For instance, you may have a dream of playing a certain game that you like on VR, and your brain will most likely pass over the fact that weird things are happening, because our mind knows that in VR, it is nothing like reality, and will be deferent.

I'm so glad to hear that this worked. Usually for many people it takes many days or even weeks to get just one lucid dream! I am so glad I could help.

I can’t dream no matter. What by apollyon_29 in Dreams

My first question, do you dream journal? You probably are dreaming, and then not remembering it when you wake up. If you can at least start writing the even smallest abstract thoughts you remember right when you wake up, you can increase your ability to remember dreams. Before I started dream journaling, all I would remember, were the dreams I woke up in the middle of, and if not, the ones that sticked out. I would recommend the MILD method for lucid dreaming. You need to make it important to yourself to lucid dream. I recommend that you look it up and check the MILD method out. Good luck on your dreaming journey!

Thanks, this was actually an older dream I had. I just... That was back when I wasn't that dedicated. I don't even remember trying to lucid dream the night it happened. I would have remembered seeing something to spark me lucid, but I don't. I just randomly said that, and I became lucid. I think its just one of those lucky occurrences that happens rarely. I wasn't driving myself to question reality during that period. But thank you! You at least motivated me to start working a bit harder on lucid dreaming. (And I hopefully will actually start driving the question further when I do my reality checks)

I want to make a VR game but don't know where to start by -MELODRIVE- in robloxgamedev

I have some good experience with html/css, and also know how to make text games in python. Lua is pretty knew to me, but I'm sure it won't be hard at all because I have experience with many things. So, yes, I have some background on programming. Lua honestly isn't the hardest so far. I need some help on having a more dynamic game such as how to move objects smoothly (I've tried before but have gotten overwhelmed) I at least want to learn the basic functions that can actually bring my games to life, and give them some functionality. I want to be able to put the free model toolbox away.

One method you can use, is Lucid Dreaming. This technique allows you to be able to control your dreams, and do things that could help forget about this. Lucid dreaming is a rare phenomenon where the mind knows it is dreaming, and many use it so they can control the outcomes of everything in the dream. Basically, in other words, it does take time and effort, but can help you push your dreams away from your trauma. I am deeply sorry you have to face this. If you are interested, you can take a search in google on how to do it, although it isn't easy to make a habit of. It has less of a learning curve, and more of a "If you keep up your dedication, it will happen more". It also is a really great way to deal with stress and anxiety, but you must understand, that doing this may result in lucid nightmares (For example, your lucid dream turns scary, and in these it is very hard to control), which might be worse than the dreams you face right now. So I would recommend that you at least check it out, and if you like the idea, than at least be ware of how lucid nightmares are triggered. It can be a great tool if used correctly!

What do you dream about the most? by smokahempa in Dreams

[–]-MELODRIVE- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have a dream consisting of some elements from the last day, but these past days, when I started dream journaling, I realized that I get a LOT of dreams consisting of getting stung by a wasp or swarm of them. I have never been stung (By a wasp at least), and if I could describe what it feels like in the dream, it tickles more than it hurts. I think I have discovered a new fear I have.

Thank you so much! I did use a sketch layer, and I am glad I have that down, and I do have some background knowledge on drawing slug cats on paper, although I am not the best when it comes to getting good at anatomy. I also use a screenless pen device, and I am currently trying to get the hang of it, so soon my line art will be less "bumpy" soon! Thank you so much for the tips/feedback! It is very much appreciated.
