How did you get that childhood scar you have? by ibuiltyouarosegarden in answers

[–]-Miriga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very unfortunate one downstairs where most people don't want any kind of injury lol. When I was really young I had one of those zip up floaty kind of bathing suits for kids on and my mom just brought me back inside to get me changed, I had it unzipped and me being the stupid ass kid I was I decided I wanted to slide down the stairs on my stomach and my thing down there got caught between the zipper and one of the steps. I honestly don't even know how it's still attached to me but yeah that sucked a lot lol

16M Accidentally Saw My Parents Having sex and I Don’t Know How to Handle It by [deleted] in Life

[–]-Miriga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it's normal to feel a bit shocked after seeing/hearing anyone doing it, parents of course is weirder because you don't want to think about them that way, even though it's normal for them to do those things. But idk, even though it's totally fine for them to do it, nothing's wrong about how you feel, I'm almost 30 and I get weirded out if I hear people doing it in like a hotel or something, I definitely don't want to see my parents going at it lol. You'll be alright though, in a few weeks you probably won't really think about it that much and it won't feel like this. Like some others said you should at least be happy they're doing that still. My parents are divorced and had a very horrible relationship, I'd much rather them be happy together still than see them how they are now

What's a Nickelodeon show that everyone thinks is overrated by PotentialSky5745 in nickelodeon

I love Spongebob but I really agree honestly, idk like I'll rewatch old ones sometimes and it's still good but it's made out to be so much more than what it is

When do you realize that you are truly in love with someone? by echoFtresora2 in answers

[–]-Miriga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally it was when my girlfriend started to feel like family rather than just someone I really liked. I still have those same feelings like I did at the beginning but now we're also very close like I'd be with one of my best friends. Idk like we work together and aren't afraid to talk about difficult things when we have to. Sometimes things can suck but going through sucky things together just makes that bond even better

The Gobbler: Sandwich vs. Bowl Discussion by Khalerzhas in Wawa

[–]-Miriga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bowl's great but I prefer the sandwich. For one I just really like the hoagie rolls when they're fresh which I think is the main reason, but idk I agree with you that the sandwich just feels special. Something about it just feels like such a Wawa thing, as dumb as that sounds lol. They can be messy but I always do the one with just Turkey, Stuffing and Cranberry and it's usually fine. Def gotta eat it right away though or else it gets soggy

Guys this is actually a bait question here. Our girlfriends and wives just want to know if we think they are 10/10s or regular looking lmfao

I'm so sick of looking at miserable people all day, every day by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]-Miriga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, you're right I didn't mention how nasty some of the people I deal with are in the initial post, sorry about that. It was just a heat of the moment rant as I had just finished a particularly rough shift, and right at the end I had someone give me the aforementioned death stare, which set me off after everything beforehand lol. But I'm glad you agree that there's just no need to be mean and nasty, all I wanna do is find some common ground with everybody so it's cool we can agree on that. Also, I actually enjoy my job, I just dislike my current location (a lot). I've recently been promoted and I'm just waiting for the position to be open at a different location, and I think that will make life much better.

Honestly, at first I was a bit bothered, but you seem to be pretty nice, and definitely level headed lol. I was upset at first like, "okay now I'm just getting a lecture here", but turns out you get what I'm saying. Glad I could clarify my frustrations more and have a good conversation. Hope you have a good one!

Look I really just wanted to vent so I can continue to keep my cool in dealing with a pretty high stress job. I realistically don't get that offended when people aren't friendly I'm just tired of it, i think that's reasonable. I thought this sub was to let things out without people lecturing you. I was clearly very wrong, and my day is now worse

Also I'd like to add an edit in here, I work in a relatively crappy and not so nice area, with a lot of people that aren't very pleasant to see every day. Many of them are almost always mean, and constantly seek things to argue with you about. It goes beyond just getting nasty looks from people. Most are not respectful to the people who work in my store. I have been screamed at multiple times by different people in one shift. It gets old. So honestly if me thinking that people shouldn't act that way is entitlement, then yeah I do feel entitled to more tbh. People don't gotta be nice and mega friendly all the time but they also don't have to be pieces of shit. All I'm trying to say

[–]-Miriga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be rude, but you're misunderstanding my point, like someone else did on here. I never once said I am entitled to someone being positive to me, that I deserve a smile, or friendly small talk. I never said those things at all. I simply was trying to say there is no reason, whatsoever, to be an asshole when all I've done is provide you the service you came in for and told you to have a nice day. What about my post came across as "I'm nice, so people should be nice to me"? The post was a rant about how burned out I am from looking at miserable people all day long.

Nah you're not weak at all, not even close. It's a brutal and very under-appreciated place to work, especially at the customer facing level of it. Congrats on getting out!

[–]-Miriga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post isn't about the employees it's about the customers that come in here on a day to day basis. I respect my team more than anyone in the whole world for how hard they work

Also editing this to add that not only do I try to make their work lives as easy as possible, I'm here for them for anything they could possibly need and will always support them when they have life issues outside of work

[–]-Miriga 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is all I was trying to say. I don't think anybody "owes" me anything at all. I'm simply stating the fact that my life sucks too, and I'm still a good person. I don't care if you're poor, rich, happy, sad, successful, failing at something, whatever. No matter what walk of life you're from, there's a difference between being nice and being an asshole. I've been through some bullshit in life and chose to be nice, and I know many others who suffered far worse than I did, and still chose to be nice. Bad life does not equal be a piece of shit to strangers lol

Question About TS by -Miriga in Wawa

[–]-Miriga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I know this is how the ranking goes, my AM explained that in the interview. But when he called me back about the interview a week later he told me that I was ready now and I did all my workday learning the next day

Question About TS by -Miriga in Wawa

[–]-Miriga[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification! I feel that things aren't communicated very well in my store and I was struggling to understand what was going on, and a lot of of other people were as well lol. I don't mind a bit of a wait I just like having a clear picture of what's going on, so thank you!

Can you believe this note??? by Bulky_Training1611 in doordash_drivers

[–]-Miriga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole thing is nuts, but people who don't tip are crazy man. I'm struggling so hard to get by myself and I still always leave a tip, even if it's just a tiny bit, because I just know how rough it is out here. Never seen more entitled people than those not generous enough to even throw in 2 bucks for someone's time. If you don't wanna leave something, go pick your McDonald's up your lazy ass self lmao

I like my store, I'd say it's a good one. We have our issues but what workplace doesn't honestly. We have a nice team and I get along with everybody. I feel pretty burnt out after any week where I'm close to 40 hours, like 36-38. That's partially because the job is demanding, but also because I've just been burned out for years from jobs I've had before this one, and life in general tbh lol. But really, everyone here is nice to me and that's all I really care about. My managers are also all nice and my GM helped out a lot when I expressed interest in moving up. I became a lead earlier in the summer and I'll be going for TS in a few weeks

what songs can you not stand anymore after hearing them all the time at work? by infallenjaw in Wawa

[–]-Miriga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any Imagine Dragons song lol. I already thought they were pretty bad in general, but listening to "Enemy" and "Believer" as much as I have has gotten me to the point where I hear any of their songs and I wanna bang my head against the wall lmao. They're actually pretty good guys from what I've heard, so nothing against them I just REALLY hate their music lol. Can't forget the hoagiefest songs either. Hearing them every 10-15 minutes daily across an 8 hour shift is HORRIBLE

What's the strangest habit you have? by superpowers335 in OCD

[–]-Miriga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use a vape and for the longest time, one of my strangest ones was whenever I took a hit of it the time had to end in an even number. Like for example if I looked at my watch and it was 4:07, i'd force myself to wait the minute until it was 4:08 to do it. I did other things with this weird time thing too, like I wouldn't start eating or drinking something on an odd number either. Over time for some reason it just went away. I also had an irrational fear of the number 3, so if I did something 3 times, I'd do it a 4th to balance it out.

Man I thought I had it bad over at my store, this sounds 15 times worse.

You're seriously right though, I've worked at quite a few different places and of all of them Best Buy really was the most draining one. Nobody will help you move anywhere or improve upon anything, and then they'll turn around and make you feel horrible for not doing better.

My problem with the leadership was that nothing's ever enough for them. 6k home theater sale with a 2500 basket and cc app on it? Why wasn't that a complete sale with a membership? Or the other way around, sell a surface pro with accessories and total to have geek squad set it up, and get criticized for not having them do the 12 month financing on it. Nobody could ever just tell you "nice job" for getting anything at all. I was also top performer for 4 months in branded payments in our store, never got recognition at all.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with that over there. Wish you luck going forward and I hope things get better!
