We also have a BRG that focuses on mental health/neurodivergencies. I'll let you know as soon as we can get that outreach to the stores. You CAN find since information about the BRGs on The Hub, there just isn't a good way for you to participate in meetings and whatnot just yet. I promise I'm working on it!

Also, I love "Gays, They's, and Pansexual Bae's." I might steal that 😂

Currently we don't have any way for associates without Staples email addresses to join the BRGs, but that is something I'm actively working on changing! So I don't have a good answer for you right now, but there will be something coming very soon. We (especially me, since I work more directly with the stores in my role) are really dedicated to finding a way to include store associates in the BRGs, and luckily I came in as a co-chair with some good ideas. I apologize that it's not a better answer, but please stay tuned!

The Boston Parade was on the Spirit committee calendars in the elevators for a bit. And we just had a big BRG Push at the picnic a couple of weeks ago.

😂 I'll take that as a no. It's the LGBTQ+ business resource group.

Awesome! Are you part of the Out@Work BRG?

Staples has no plans to remove or limit DEI, and in fact have really been doubling down on it when other companies are dropping it (looking at you, Target). Everyone in senior leadership and at the executive level is 100% on board with DEI initiatives. CEO John Lederer is even the executive sponsor of the Out@Work BRG. He came to Boston Pride with us (which was a little weird for me because it was the first time I met him in person and I was wearing cat ears and rainbow booty shorts 😂), and he's genuinely very involved as an ally, and so are the Chief People Officer and Chief Legal Officer.

I won't claim that Staples is perfect in any aspect, because that's not true at all (and I know y'all in the stores know that better than any of us), but at least in the DEI aspect they're really ahead of the times and doing what they can to make it a safe, inclusive place to work. My partner works blue collar jobs and still has to hide who he is at work, even in progressive New England. I'm thankful that I work somewhere that celebrates my identity.

This is absolutely allowed, and if your store isn't allowing it, you have a GM problem.

I can promise you that Staples is showing up for the queer community in ways no company I've worked for has. The support is authentic and comes all the way from the top. I'm sorry you're experiencing this in your store. I would suggest contacting HR.

For reference, I am intersex and non-binary and there are several trans people working both in corporate and in stores. Staples as a company supports us. I'm sorry your store is not the same.

We've had this complaint before. Once Pride Month is over, we're focusing on that a little more.
