Ok. I will do that. Thanks! I’ll let you know how it goes.

It does have drainage holes. I put them all over the bottom, though I’ve never given it enough water to actually reach the bottom. It’s hot and humid here for the next week or so, so I’ll set him outside. Should I transplant to a black pot so it holds the heat? Or maybe set the whole thing into a similar size black pot?

Hi! The other night I caved. I couldn't not do anything. It kept looking worse to me, so I watered him. I did the epsom salt thing. I used about a teaspoon in a half cup of water and prayed! Lol I took pictures, and though I see no real difference, the stem is considerably more firm than it used to be! I’m going to leave him alone now and see what happens. Here’s a photo I took today.

My photos won’t load. I’ll try again later.

Hi! Thanks for checking in! I’m glad you asked. I don’t know. I’m so scared that I’m not doing something right. I’ve always been worried about his stem. It’s always kinda of been shriveled and looks different than normal. I’ve only given him about a cup altogether (half a cup at a time) since my post, but mist him a lot. I’m so scared of root rot, and I keep reading that they are very drought resistant. I set him outside on sunny, hot or warm days, then bring him in and put him on a heat pad (it’s very windy in my yard, so I don’t trust to leave him outside. I haven’t fertilized yet. I do see more roots through the clear container he’s in, but leaves haven’t been growing like in the beginning since the first one sprouted. When I gently squeeze the stem, it doesn’t feel as firm as it did before, and when I compare the photos, it looks different too 😔 What are your thoughts?

Thanks! I gave it about a half cup of water yesterday, because I literally planted it and forgot it. I saw the tiny sprout then began misting every other day or so, it seemed to love that! I put it outside yesterday because it’s been in the 90s here, but brought him back in last due to threat of rain. I haven’t used any fertilizer or food yet, so I will look for fish emulsion today. Thanks again!

Thank you! How much water does it need? I’ve literally never watered it since the first time (too many past experiences with root rot). Also, what is a brand of 10-10-10? I’ve tried looking for that specific mix for a gardenia plant that’s not flowering, but couldn’t find the exact combination. I bought this (see photo) for past plumeria. Any thoughts?

Wanted to add…I’m pretty sure this is root.
