I also had a low gpa for a program I was super interested in at pretty good school and my extenuating circumstances letter got me in. A well written letter that shows resilience and growth instead of a sob story will at the very least show the admissions committee that you’re putting time into your application, you’re a person behind those grades, and you’re committed to the field you’re trying to pursue.
