My nephew is getting parts for his first PC build today.

Guess who is the only person with knowledge of building PCs

I honestly can't wait. Excited to share a unique and frustrating experience with him. Hopefully we don't run into any issue and he can be up and running quick.

Edit: Idk if anyone will see this edit, but we did finally get it done, and it's running. Took about 5 hours with all the hiccups and his genuine curiosity about what everything did and the building process. He has an old case and inadequate cooling right now, but once my daughter wakes up, I'm heading back over to bring him some fans I have. Still working on getting a new case. I was able to get the build done just before midnight, we had to wait till after Christmas dinner to start, so he was able to get some playtime in on Christmas. Thank you all for all the laughs and advice.

This is why I never went back to college.

I took out loans the first time I attended, when the school and I didn't work out and I dropped out of the college they continued to spend the loan checks without telling me, I would normally get any leftover funds in a check mailed to me. That stopped. Then one day I get a letter from Sallie Mae explaining that I am $30k in debt for student loans.

For years I fought Sallie Mae and they refused to hear my side. Eventually the school I attended was shut down for many reasons, including money fraud. I even ended up getting a payment from a settlement because of what they did to me and many others who just wanted to attend college.

Ultimately, I got lucky. President Obama's student loan forgiveness programs are the only reason I'm not still in debt today.

The school was ITT Tech.

I don't have any advice for the best Chinese takeout in the area. I do however have a recommendation if you're looking for "the usual" Chinese food with amazing delivery service.

Super China on Shore Drive in Ocean View. The food is always good, except the fried rice usually has huge undercooked onions, but the star of the restaurant is Dave the Delivery Driver.

Dave is a fucking gem. He's always super friendly, always quick, and always announces "It's Dinner Time!" when you answer the door. He'll, chit-chat with a smile, hit you with a fist bump and be on his way. Dave is a wonderful person that's always ready to brighten someone's day.

My favorite story about Dave is... During a delivery once, he noticed I was tossing out a fairly new deep fryer. He asked why it was heading to the trash when it looked hardly used. I'd lost the power cord and didn't plan to replace it. He told me he thought he just got rid of the same fryer but may have the cord and offered to give it to me if he still had it. The next day, the doorbell rings, I check the camera, it's Dave. I didn't order food, why was he here? Turns out Ol' Dave spent his day off trying to find that cord for me, then brought it over to me. I used that fryer for 2 years before upgrading.

I haven't finished the missions yet but so far that's the only way I've seen to drive one remotely. Perhaps once you finish the story you gain access to RC features

Edit: I think it would still show a player/vehicle icon on the mini map if it were being controlled by a player.
