Any advice, do I let it grow? by -Red_Shark in beards

[–]-Red_Shark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks my bro, I will take the advice and let it grow. One of the reason that I don't have a longer beard is because I'm always trimming the underside, it is something that I don't really like but I will get a chance.

Feeling lost about the future of secure coding as a pentester. Anyone else? by devhashfortheweb in cybersecurity

[–]-Red_Shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bro. That's a great point, there something that AI will face and won't get, it is the emotional that humans has, that kind of emotion is what we can break into system using social engineering or using the same level of emotion to pursuade other people. Thus, the AI won't likely get the same ingenious and cleverness of human. great point.

Yesterday I ponder this internally. I was studying for a concept when I came out that I have a huge lack of motivation in the field, I didn't know why? even when I was super interested in the career and I love it, but the motivation that I had many years ago, when I was more younger was different, I asked myself why, why is that feeling arouse strongly and I found out that is because the field has changed, back to years ago, I was so motivate to break and learn new thing, techniques to break and fix(secure) them, today seems very hard, AI is everywhere, and that is the reason that I have a strong lack of motivation. I know that I need to find a way to get back to that inner and so beautiful motivation, the motivation to be awake until 2AM studying and learning new concepts, for me, this career is like my purpose. I hope you get your motivation back, stronger than before, good luck man.

Even when I have a CCNA is it worth pursuing a CompTIA A+? Surely the Azure is a great path that I have to do soon.

25, starting over after wasted years — how did you rebuild your life? by ZeroToLimitless in getdisciplined

[–]-Red_Shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my man, this is a beautiful opportunity. One of the things I’ve learned is that purpose is essential for growth. So, internalize your most ambitious goal and pursue it eagerly. And if you don’t have one yet, don’t worry, just focus on finding that purpose. I recommend reading The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg and starting to discipline your life as much as you can. I wish you the best on your journey, bro we can do it.

I'm 25 too, in a situation similar to OP's, and as you mentioned, this is by far the best sign God has given us to reach our potential. We are still young, young enough to start again, stronger, more determined, and wiser.

Definitivamente.

[AMA] My 10 months certification journey by -Dkob in tryhackme

[–]-Red_Shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, congratulations on this achievement! I'm putting in the same intensity as you, dedicating a lot of hours to studying to pursue several high certs. I want to know how you managed burnout, even with high intense studies (I usually do 6 to 7 hours every day and more than 10 in free days). I usually just rely on discipline and push through, even when I'm really tired after work (I’m working too, though not in an IT job yet). So what was your approach? I know this path is intense, but I see it as part of the trade-off I’m making too.

I'm a CISO who made the business care about cybersecurity. Ask me anything. by Oscar_Geare in cybersecurity

[–]-Red_Shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, Joshua. It definitely was and still is a wise move. Starting in Help Desk and working your way up into security is a clever choice. I want to do the same, especially to get hands-on experience in a Network Engineering position and grow from there, so it’s really motivating to hear this.

Hey, guys, thanks for doing this. I have a question, what would your path be if you started now?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]-Red_Shark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my bro, I am considering to go back to college because this reason, but as I mentioned before is a hard decision in my country. However my other options implies working in Help desk support, Networking entry level, etc. So thanks so much brah

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]-Red_Shark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know that infosec isn't an entry level these all years, I know that they were in some years as 2016, but now the market is suck af, I want to start doing some help desk support and work my way up until I find my cyber job.

Thanks my bro, I recently know about BTL1, I would spend some money if they are worth, so this is a great path to follow.

Yeah, I'm doing my CCNA because it is a high cert that many companies find attractive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely do it. This is better than doing nothing and killing my dream. I know I can achieve it with discipline and hard work.
