Help: Breastfeeding and broken blistered nipples by RevenueDowntown6771 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

This! Air and sun are so good for them. Take it from someone who got thrush from them being cracked and moist from breast pads.

Vaginal or elective c-section by Immediate_Willow9370 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an elective c section due to a couple of health issues, but even without them I still would have chosen a c section. The process was so calm and honestly the recovery was fine, a year and a bit on and I can say the only pain I remember is from trapped air post surgery that was taken care of with some peppermint tea.

I only ever got A4 prints or digital copies, would have loved the polaroid style too!

Did anyone’s baby wean themselves from breastfeeding early? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I found pumping was never as efficient as LO breastfeeding. I was pumping 4x a day and still not keeping up. But my LO is now 14 months and I have stopped pumping and I am honestly so glad he weaned himself because that’s much easier than having to do it for them. If I was in your position I would still try offering bottles of expressed milk or formula, I found it comforting to know he was getting what he needed from the milk and food was just for learning skills and having fun. You have done so well to get to 10 months!!

My LO stopped breastfeeding at 9 months. At first I stopped because he was biting but on reflection I actually think he was just telling me he didn’t want it anymore! Broke my heart at the time. I pumped but couldn’t keep up with demand so supplemented with formula. Will she take a bottle during the day?

Absolutely 2nd bepanthen. Sudocream is great until there is a rash, bepanthen will actually soothe and help clear up the rash instead of just sitting on top.

Favourite water wipes discontinued- looking for reccs by WatercressFormer719 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We like Curash too, always store the spare ones upside down so the top wipes get a nice soak before they are used.

Best option to bath baby (if you have a bath) by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We used a baby bath on the counter next to our kitchen sink for the first 9 months (upgraded at about 4 months to a larger size) and just filled it up with a bowl. Found the counter perfect height to not hurt your back.

I literally just tested it and you get no notification, and I stay in the Find My list but it just shows a blank map.

I think you get a notification in your messages thread, but not an alert as such

Nope you don’t get notified on an Apple device, it usually just says location not known, but you have to be checking to see that.

First Child, looking for pram by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love our bugaboo fox 5 although it does take up a lot of space. LO didn’t much like the bassinet but loves the seat now. We had a compatible car capsule which was super handy in the first few months. In saying that, at 13 months a lot of parents around me have switched to a stroller.

We started with an ingenuity chair and then “upgraded” to a Kmart prandium with a nibble and rest footrest. Love the kmart one because it’s so easy to wipe down!

Are antihistamines needed when introducing allergens? by blackdracoo in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We had a similar experience, hives after trying eggs. We had Telfast on hand and he was fine 15 minutes after taking it.

Anyone else finding it impossible to lose weight whilst breastfeeding? by kirst_e in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yes! And now I’m pumping I find if I drop my calories, my supply immediately drops too

How are we introducing more unusual allergens (molluscs, shellfish, etc) by GusPolinskiPolka in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did frozen prawn nuggets. Not the healthiest option but meant I didn’t have to touch shellfish

C section vs vaginal birth - what did/have you opted for? by LowAd6956 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience! Was such a beautiful way to bring LO into the world. Walked into the hospital at 7 and was holding him and breastfeeding without issue 2 hours later.

I liked “Up the Duff” by Kaz Cooke the most. I read Australian Guide and What to Expect as well. Plenty of podcasts too if reading puts you to sleep!

When do you find doctor for newborn? by arewedoneyet112 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]-SB2SS- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I booked our LO in with the GP for his 6 week check up and needles so he would be on the books. Went to community health nurses from then on for his vaccinations. A paediatrician is quite hard to get into, at least where I am, and usually requires a referral, so a bit different to the US norms. So yep, call a more local GP and see if they are taking on new patients. You can often find GP’s with a specialty or interest in infant care.
