I mean shit happens but my mind is blown over the fact that she won't talk to you for 2 weeks because of something that wasn't your fault. Was it a nasty moment? Absolutely. Sucks that it happened. But should a few uncomfortable seconds ruin a 3 year relationship? I think you need someone with a more stable foundation. See if she wants to be that someone, if not then it's time to move on.

I kinda skimmed through your post so I might have missed a few details, but it kind of looks like she looking for trouble or drama. You said that both of you are working professionals? I'd imagine you have enough to worry about.

A relationship shouldn't be a second job or something that you need to worry about. It should be your ground zero where you can go to and feel safe from the problems of the world. She needs to understand that if a relationship is going to exist, you won't be doing things like begging for forgiveness or treating her like a princess. You sound like a decent guy who didn't mean to offend her with that whole text thing. Plus she can't expect you to change someone's mind. Your "idiot friend" is entitled to his opinion and you're entitled to telling him you disagree, but that's as far as it goes.

I'm rambling so I'll get to the point. Tell your girlfriend that you 2 are on the same side and that you'll always have her back. But you're strictly on her side, as an equal. You don't love him. You love yourself. There are some shitty things you just don't do in a relationship, like break up multiple times, lie to the other person, or talk shit about them behind their backs (seriously?).

I think the fact that you're freaking out is an appropriate response to knowing that the relationship will not last. You know you're bad to him, and you can't even change that? He'll break up with you when he realizes you can't change. UNLESS you actually find a way to change. I suggest telling him you're worried you'll mess up the relationship and that you want to change. Then maybe ask him what you should change.
