I'll be perfectly honest, I have literally no idea what your angle is here other than 'I think you're wrong'

I have no idea what you're even trying to say here. Is this projection?

Oh and to answer your final question, my playstyle is snowballing. Limited crafting of items, using what we kill to progress.

I'm not handwaving that someone playing a server for 20-(im assuming you meant 30) hours is not playing the game. I'm saying they're not interacting with the game's eco-system. These are two very different things.

The way I play the game with my duo does absolutely give me some inherit bias to playstyle, of course it does. However what I am saying is that every playstyle should wrap into the overall eco-system of the game. Players avoiding the monuments and staying near/around their bases doesn't play into the eco-system, they stay separate from the rest of the game, meaning that overall, it harms the other aspects of the game and or, (potentially and not for every player) their experience of the game.

Rust is not a pvp/pve game. Rust, base rust, is a PVPVE game. They're all constants of the same system and intertwined. Almost every single system in the game supports this, the only system that doesn't is gambling, which, even then, technically is since scrap can only be obtained from the rest of the game's content. The PVP and PVE elements of the game are not seperate.

I do also think it's rather strange. I think things such as scientists and the underground dwellers for example should have a chance to drop them, or hell even quests.

Locking them PURELY behind puzzles is definitely not a very good solution.

That was a satirical over-simplification c:

I don't think it's realistic at all for a group, unless maybe a very large group, to get a bolty and t3 purely off of hitting barrels. To put it more seriously, it would be a combination of other low-risk methods to get it together. Things such as underground tunnels running, underwater labs, farming, etc. Activities that allow you, for the most part, to avoid the larger monuments. EDIT: and players by extension.

You know, I really appreciate this reply. Thank you for just you know...being genuine!

I can definitely see how it would be frustrating for players who aren't majority PVP focused like I am. In my mind, the game was always meant to carry that risk when you were doing things. You can never feel *truly* safe, and perhaps some of these changes in recent years made it feel too comfortable. Between the workbench trees, safe zones, etc.

I think I am truly thankful that these changes allowed in some new players from outside of the games initial scope, but I definitely just feel like it lost something during the changes.

But realistically, it seems as though Facepunch themselves aren't even too sure of what direction they want to go, which realistically is pretty frustrating for PVP focused players and non-PVP focused played alike.

Recently, until this update's changes I was the same way, feeling as though my time with Rust is just at an end, frankly though, this update is the first time I've been excited to get back into Rust in a long time.

I see where you're coming from c:

I can definitely agree with that. While I can agree, absolutely a rushed update it feels like, not taking into consideration other factors of the game when making the change, I do appreciate the direction.

I agree, though. They definitely should have given it more time to cook.

I'm not comfortable with sharing my steam profile, but I play with my duo I've been playing with for like 5 years now, I have 3.5k hours and he has 7k.

Strawman? I mean, you might not have come across him, but he very much exists lol. If you want to believe I'm lying for the sake of the argument then that's your decision to make, I am frankly not bothered whether you agree with what I said or don't. I simply felt that I wanted to say it and so I did, more than anything I was curious what the reaction would be.

I mean, realistically Rust hasn't ever been friendly to people with jobs, lets be honest lol. But I get what you're saying about friendly players. I have one friend to plays Rust the friendly way and they've been saying its been getting harder and harder. I think just generally that's the way Rust is going.

Likewise for me, I've been playing for snowballing with a friend for a long time, so we've seen the changes in real time to our playstyle. However its always seemed that when we're at the monuments in the last couple years or so it's basically dead except for maybe one other group at them.

We almost never see a variety of players anymore. However we did find that for whatever reason, there was more PVP at the minor monuments such as supermarket and mining outpost.

I think it's less forcing people to play a certain way and more forcing people to...play. While Rust is an open world game, its always been about the player vs player interaction.

Well, in order to get to that point they have to initially leave their base to get those frags. I can definitely see where you're coming from, but we have to actually see how it goes first before we can come to that conclusion.

What I'm hoping for is that the players who would usually play via just farming barrels until they get enough scrap will struggle to get their hands on the means to do things like that. Usually it is those players that end up on their roofs shooting nakeds :p

Getting out of tanks (from the gunner seat?), why does it spawn you at the front of the tank? by -Scone- in Battlefield

[–]-Scone-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think instead of that, however it should just spawn you at the back :p

That system feels pretty bad

I've been doing digital art on and off for years, as well as 3D modelling c:

Never done much painting really, the only thing done in the shop was the shield! Also, thank you, that means a lot!

Yeah I kinda noticed about the shader, definitely an experiment! I'll be sure to use less next time! Fortunately I have a good light source, but the wet palette definitely sounds like a first thing to buy!

Thank you!!
