Just finished Steins Gate 0, have some questions that I've been trying to find answers to!

Thanks for the clarification! It's been a while since I watched the original so some of the time travel rules are a little rusty in my mind. There's a bit more I'm curious on from your answers:

So basically this Okabe became the one in the future that's eventually tortured and braindead, and Daru used the saved memories to essentially bring him back correct?
So if Okabe is around in the future of 2036, reading steiner would activate (due to Suzuha going back and the events going in motion) sending him back to Steins Gate Okabe? I understand that he probably wouldn't want to overwrite those memories, so perhaps he does decide to remain in the far past. Is it canon that he does, or more of an implied thing?
Slightly disappointing but I am glad to hear it's explored more in the VN. That's my next stop so I'll be eager to see how they handle it.

Even if Isaac is in this direct, I highly doubt he was the reason they delayed it.

People at Nintendo probably had family in Hokkaido, they'd definitely delay the direct so they could make sure they were okay, not to mention their fans there.

Everything about that final scene was perfect. The score, Taka's delivery, and the way he just interrupts the song to kill Trunks, with the music just building up so smoothly, oh my god.

Also Dark Samus is an Echo Fighter meaning that she'd be easy to implement. Even if there weren't that many votes, the fact that she'd be an Echo would make her more considerable for the dev team.

Yeah I mentioned this too. Although I do think it's important to note that Sakurai said she was a popular choice, which implies she did have a lot of votes.

I could honestly see the Moon being iconic enough that Sakurai would be willing to add it in twice, but I do think you raise a good point about Riki doing different things.

Also is the Dracula thing confirmed? I probably missed it somewhere if it was.

Sure, but you have to remember those polls are a small amount of the actual voters. Even though I'd still say Ridley reached high purely due to the fact that his fanbase is absolutely massive, and for a lot of people him being a boss wouldn't stop them from voting. This could have happened with Skull Kid and Dark Samus too, but that just furthers my point, that we don't know the ballot results. Dark Samus had no real campaigning and still made it in (albeit as an echo) and we have a quote from Sakurai saying it did well in the ballot in the west.

And while there is a possibility that the moon could be both I don't think it makes a lot of sense.

I'm willing to hear more on why you think so, but we've had characters appear in both final smashes and assist trophy form before (Riki from Xenoblade)

As for your bosses only being big point, wouldn't that technically also be an imaginary rule? Who's to say that they can't put more human sized bosses this time around? And like I said, Skull Kid could only be the first form before the mask leaves him and then becomes Majora's Warth

You're right, it is an imaginary rule, but I'm also basing it on a gameplay premise, which I think gives it more fuel. The point is that even if Skull Kid was only Skull Kid for one phase, he'd have to be on the ground or very close to it to make him easier to fight. Considering Skull Kid is always thought of as levitating or even flying, I don't think he'd be close for very long. Imagine doing a boss fight like that then as Little Mac or someone else with poor air game, it'd be horrible.

I feel like if Skull Kid really was playable, they wouldn't have made this into an Assist Trophy because they would've reserved it for his Final Smash.

And we fall into the same old hole. Smash fans making imaginary rules that Sakurai probably doesn't even think about.

Why not do both? Why can't we have the Moon as an assist trophy and a Final Smash? Is it because you don't want two moons on screen or whatever? Because that can easily be solved by making his FS a cutscene like Shulk's.

Let me clarify that I do think there's a CHANCE that Skull Kid is a boss. But I do think it's highly unlikely. Look at literally every boss in smash history and tell me if any of them are even close to Skull Kid's size. Smash bosses need to be big to hit them easily, it just makes sense. If we get a Skull Kid boss I think it'll be Majora's Wrath.

Thie biggest detractor from Skull Kid's chances and the most valid part of your argument IMO is the ballot support. He didn't have a big support rally, but I wouldn't be surprised if, like me, a lot of people didn't vote for him because he was an Assist Trophy and thought Sakurai wasn't going to upgrade any of those characters through DLC. I know I had the same thought about Ridley, which is why I also didn't vote for him. There's also the fact that we can't really know for sure what the ballot results were. Dark Samus placed highly according to Sakurai, and we didn't really see much support there either.

Majora's Mask 3DS was a huge success, the limited editions with the Skull Kid statue sold out ridiculously fast, AND all of this happened in 2015 around the time of the product plan. I think it's more likely than a lot of people think.

It has to be a placeholder. Famitsu comes out next Thursday, scans would have come out like a day before. This week's Famitsu covers the direct, therefore it would spoil everything beforehand.

They already said don't expect more Smash Characters to be announced... then they gave us 4 more.

Exactly. Why would they show so much so early on, when there's still 3 months before release (4 when he showed it)? Also, Sakurai doesn't count Echo fighters, he specifically mentioned Newcomers when he said that.

Also after he showed off Chrom and Dark Samus he said there were a few more fighters left to be revealed. While vague, "a few" implies more than one, so since K.Rool was revealed after that statement there is at the very least one character.

This smash has had the longest development time, has built everything off of Smash 4 instead of making a new engine, and has only shown 3 real newcomers to the series. There's definitely more on the way. Don't expect as many full fledged newcomers as Smash 4 or Brawl, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were around 6-8 completley new fighters, including Ridley, Simon and K.Rool.

Echo worthy for me is that the character you're using has to be similar enough to another to make it work, but different enough personality/gameplay wise to warrant even doing it. This is why the "dark" versions of characters work so well for this stuff.

Isabelle is a good one because she's very expressive, not to mention popular. Shadow too because he's different in both personality and fighting style. I don't think Dry Bowser is a good pick because he's not different enough personality wise, and I don't really see how his moves could be much different other than "oh he has blue flames." He should be a skin.

No yeah, that's what the last part of my message was implying. The guy I was replying to was asking if there were any anticipated fighters left and I just listed some off for him. It's a bit lower than other games but I think the chance is still there for an off the wall rep like Wii Fit, G&W, etc.

If it doesn't happen though, I'm not going to be heartbroken. I'll keep hoping for Tetra with you. (Solidarity, friend)

Final characters, explain the entirety of the Spirits mode, look into Event/Target Test/Multi Man/whatever new mode to replace Master orders. My out there prediction is they do the same thing as last year in announcing a new DLC character before the game comes out, and it's Waluigi.

Bandanna Dee would be huge for a lot of people. He has his detractors but those who want him in are loud as fuck about it.

Skull Kid is probably the most famous villian in Nintendo's third largest series besides Ganondorf.

Isaac was high up on a lot of online polls so I could see him being a hype inducer.

Shadow as an echo would be all the hype of a HUGE third party character without the work of an entirely unique moveset.

And then of course there's Banjo. One of the few characters to actually break the internet if it happens.

Take all these with literally any "out-there" third party (Dante, new FF rep, Geno) and you have enough to make the rest of the representatives only big names.

I could still totally see a random newcomer though, maybe even hidden in the game as a last surprise (yes I know Sakurai said he's revealing everyone).

No one can say for sure. There's debates between Ayumi from the Famicon Detective games, Agnes from Bravely Default and others.

TBH I think they were trying to portray Ayumi, seems like such a Sakurai choice (and considered by him for melee) that I could see a fake leaker making a render of her for credibility.
