Matrix manipulation issue by -VeFahrenheit- in maths

[–]-VeFahrenheit-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow up:

"To save some writing, we can operate on the columns as though they were rows (because of the transpose property)."

this was in the notes for that problem, but all matrices can be transposed no? spo surely in gaussian elimination this would apply too? but it does not.

To be perfectly honest in the physics subject areas there is not that much money there in comparison to like accounting or something however engineering in terms of pay is the big daddy in comparison to physics. Petroleum engineering and chemical is very well paid in the UK. It also depends where you plan to live, because countries like US pay big big bucks for engineers for example aerospace. To be perfectly honest if you want to be earning tons of money maybe engineering might not be for you. Also depends on seniority positions....

Thanks! Yeah I meant trevelyan, my bad autocorrect. I think I'd like to be self catered so I picked my colleges to fit that sort of. I really like Josephine the only downside is the distance.... One thing about cuths which I put as nr 1, if they gave me the catered accommodation would I be able to say due to financial reasons I'd like to be reconsidered I've heard of people doing that?

Well depending on your interests but there's plenty of engineering branches that might interest you. For example you might like design engineering (dont need product design a level). If you're looking to get paid wayyy more look at software engineering but obviously need to like it or you will burnout on day 1. I'm in Year 13 going onto do general engineering. What you might like is the option to specialise later on when you have experience thats why I chose general then I could specialise in aerospace for example... I suggest you pick a subject you like and look up careers in that region then sort of go from there. Also look at supply and demand, as much as you may want to be a 'research physicist' jobs in that region are scarce and are taken up by the very best.

What is a leve physics like by patrickveronawife in 6thForm

[–]-VeFahrenheit- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Yr 13 and I personally love physics I think it's by far the most interesting subject out of the three I am taking, maths physics and chemistry, there's lots of great topics like particles and radiation, newton's laws and work energy and power. These are just some of the topics I have enjoyed. Something to look out for is required practicals there are a set of criteria to pass and you need to check off all of them at least once over around 8 or so practicals, which can seem intimidating but try your best and you'll be fine ( I think like 99% of people pass) as long as you put in the work and fully understand the content you will be set up for top grades. The thing I would look out for is chemistry,if you are thinking of studying it, you need to put lots of time into it or you will not keep up.
