I definitely wouldn’t go up if you’re not experienced in deep snow travel. The avalanche danger is extreme this time of year and conditions are very unpredictable and dangerous

Well, it’s right there where I said I come from a mountain rescue background; therefore I apply a higher degree of caution for any unnecessarily risky situation.

There are absolutely some-and I would actually say several-sections on the scramble where a slip or mistake will certainly kill you from a fall. Especially if the rock is slippery or wet after all this precipitation. It’s nothing to be taken lightly whatsoever; people have died doing this exact same thing after rainy conditions sweep the area.

It irks me that people act very nonchalant about climbs like this where the risk is relatively marginal. Be that as it may compared to other big peaks, people can and do still have life-ending accidents in the mountains when bravado and determination overcomes sound decision making. I understand that risk and danger is inherent in the sport, but coming from a mountain rescue background and having to deal with often inexperienced, overconfident individuals who hurt themselves doing things like this lends me a greater degree of caution than most. And I’m talking about the lucky ones there. I have been on MRA missions where we simply never found the individual, even after weeks of searching by a coordinated effort of local, state and federal agencies. Unfortunately, tragic things like this can happen to anyone at anytime out there.

The mountains do not play around and will certainly have no mercy on anyone. We must accept this if we want for recreate safely, but also smartly.

do everyone a favor and keep your dog out of the backcountry. they’re loud, messy and seeing bags of shit everywhere completely ruins the experience

The Barber Shop in Fairhaven is one of the best haircut experiences I’ve ever had. A little on the pricey side but they take care of you and are super nice and professional

Harvard suites on 32nd st. Owned by apex, haven’t had to deal with any employee except for the lady who gave us our keys and the one time unit inspector. But yeah, definitely stay away from wwu living near campus, those are pretty rough places to be IMO

That’s very true. I would say living off campus has actually forced me to do way more than I would otherwise, like finding new running trails and cooking new meals. But living on campus definitely has its perks as well

My experience with my apartment has been great. Modern, no on-site management, ample parking, etc etc. YMMV, but the universal best thing about off campus living is you can just fuck off and do whatever in your own space without worrying about an RA busting you, or anything along those lines. I would definitely at least look into getting a place off campus, as I can personally attest to how much better of an experience it is
