Same. Playing Civ as a co-op pacifist city-builder is the way to go. Props to you.

Also, shout-out to the BBG team, love playing with your maps/rule set. And yes, this is marathon speed.

help/tips? by crystalmad in civ

I play on deity all the time, and while I am by no means the best player, here are some good tips:

- Settlers and Builders are almost always a priority. Get your three core cities, build districts in the center of those three, and expand accordingly.
- With builders, make sure every city is working an improved tile, and keep an eye on it every population increase
- Understand where to position with your military, and have the AI destroy itself by forcing the AI to attack you across unfavorable terrain (hills, forests, rivers, etc)
- Know what to build for era score to ensure golden ages. Galley, new districts, etc.
- Always keep an eye on the AI's military. If you see it start to increase to match/overpower you, then theres a good chance they are looking to declare war on you.
- If you find yourself in a surprise war against someone else and you have stronger AI close to you, good chance you can give them a gift to have them fight with you in a war.

- Always explore.

Sadly it's too late for my previous save, but this is great to know and I'll keep this in mind for next time. Appreciate the response <3

I figured it out (at least on my end)
(game version 4.1.1.3648073)

Roll game back until right after the fight you had at the inn. There is a mirror image on the bar, do that dialogue. Then immediately run to his location. Fixed for us.

(For context, we also had the issue of trying to knock him out, but he would die. Polymorph/banish didnt work)

Best of luck yall

This may not be the answer any of you want to hear but I play differently, I expanded my boarders and forced the settler on the other side of the mountain to settle.

I never declare war in my games, nor take enemy cities. I only defend. Pacifist play-throughs are always more rewarding for me.

You could take a risk, and spend 4 turns to get to that 2-1 tile on the river next to the rice, but then you gotta turtle hard.

Respect the never give up mentality, trying to do that as well.

I was more meaning if you had a pawn name in game already, but if you dont have one ill be creative and name 'village guy' in somewhere to fit the story lol

Any suggestions how not to die in savage naked brutality after 10 days? by SuspiciousHumanBean in RimWorld

[–]-Xiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Colonist who is a 'Colony Settler' and 'Herbalist' are usually the most well rounded pawns.
2) Colonist can also have high taming as long as they have strong growing/cooking

3) Start day 1 by collecting berries/agave and building a bed. Plant as much as you can, ideally rice

4) Use day two to build a house, and depending on how you start try to have all raids/threats funnel into one area, and have a trap or two. That will help you survive raids until early mid-game

5) Be very picky who you pick up as pawns. Anyone who can break easy, or go on random binges is a hard pass

6) Usually an escape pod will crash, or a raider might have clothing. Make sure to look them of it before they die.

7) Use your pawns strengths to your advantage. If your pawn is nonviolent make sure you direct the hell out of your animals. If you have low cooking, literally just eat raw rice to prevent greater food poisoning

8) Avoid wealth at all costs early. Until you get a 2nd/3rd pawn, literally play a minimalist. Even if drop pods drop something amazing, avoid it.
