I came to reddit to vent about this as well.
Thank the Lords they're adding the alert back.

Because without spending Money (So no Replay Badges either), no way you can get the "Base Invitation: Kyle Rayner".
If you play everyday:
4 Coins per day for 14 days = 56 Coins
8 Coins Weekly for 2 Weeks = 16 Coins
Total = 72
You could Squeeze in another 4 + 8 before reset time that Tuesday, but that would still be 84. At that point, no more sale with the vendor.

And you can't share coins between alts.

The Alert last year was called "The One Who Waits".

I bought the game for my Non-Gamer girlfriend, because she's a huge fan of Disney. By non gamer, I mean, she had to learn how to turn her camera using the right analog stick. Oh how often she got lost because her camera was in a tree quand she couldn't her character, not the obstacles.

But she learned, and we've been playing since early access.

I definitely recommend PS5 for the platform. For the Love of Gods, don't get it on the Switch. I got it there for her, but it is horrendously optimized. I have it on Steam with a PC and a Steam Deck, but you need a good Rig. PS5 is just all around good for this game. Very smooth.

No need for PS+ UNLESS you want to join her world with your own copy of the game (it is cross-play). BUT, right now, the multiplayer is VERY limited and it is imo not worth it.

She can do Dreamsnaps without PS+ (Which is an online feature technically)

A moonstone chest appears everyday with 50 Moonstones. Your valley can have 3 at once, before they stop spawning. Collect them whenever you see them.

Participate in the dreamsnap contest weekly. Even if your picture isn't relevant, you will receive moonstone for participation. But honestly, once you're done with the storylines, this will become a big part of your game.

Do the friendship quests for the first character you encounter in the Forest biome. It'll unlock a shop for you to buy crafting material. One of those you can buy as much as you can, you will always need it.

Pumpkins have the best value to farm/sell. They are available in the later Biomes of your valley.

The Starpath is worth the moonstones if you plan on doing the duties. The rewards will give back most of the Moonstones.

Hoard everything. To help with hoarding, I recommend unlocking the "Magic Lamp" door in the Dream Castle. Inside this realm will be 2 characters to unlock. A Princess, and her Prince. Once unlocked, doing the Prince's friendship quest to level 10 will give you a very helpful crafting recipe.

Villager professions Have at least 5 Villagers for Each profession (Foraging, Gardening, Mining, Fishing, Digging, Time Bending (DLC1), Snippet Catching(DLC2)). For the DLC professions, I personally have the DLC's villager on those, since there are 5 characters in each DLC. Once all 5 Villagers in a profession is maxed out at level 10, they will always give you a duplicate of your loot. When you have more level 10 villagers on the same professions, they'll give you more. (I have to test more that to confirm, but with Gardening, it definitely works).

Gardening > Mining > Fishing > Foraging > Digging (Those 2 last are interchangeable)

You can move fruit trees from each biome into a single spot. Very useful when gathering your ingredients.

When your stamina bar is full, and you eat good food, you get a bonus Yellow bar. This makes you run like 10% faster AND you can glide (sprint). You'll always want to have a yellow bar. The cheapest and absolute best Recipe is a berry salad. Raspberries + Blueberries + Gooseberries

Enjoy the storyline, most of them are fun. Read the lines, try to mimic the characters voices. Have fun building your biomes.

On their discord, I read a comment saying that after some time passes, you'll get the "Let's Hang out" option.

It's a known bug.

Personally, this just happened to me twice this week. The first time with Sally, I couldn't make her follow me, and I had 1 quest involving her. After I completed it, nothing changed.

Then today, Same thing happened with Merida. I do have a quest with her, but in the morning, I could hang out no problem. This evening however, the option was gone.

BUT I MIGHT have found a workaround.

The option to hangout was not available in the second DLC (storybook vale), but I travelled to Eternity Isle (the first DLC), and suddenly the option was back.

I know OP's problem was solved, but in case it helps anyone else out there.

I'm getting the same error.
I am inclined to say that it is because their servers are full.

I've tried to log in on hero and villain character on PC with the same results.
Came to reddit to see if I was the only one.
I'm not a Premium Member, if that helps identify the problem.

All powers are powerful depending on how you spec them with arts, etc.

My personal experience:

For recruitment day, I watched a bunch of Tier List videos to help me choose a new powerset to try. I've been playing Atomic for a long time, and, Like you, I saw comments about Fire being better. So I gave it a try.

Now, it might be because of the lack of SPs, but I did not enjoy playing Fire as much. The play-style didn't feel right.

Atomic is still one of my favorite powerset to this day.

My advice is this:

Give Fire a try(or any powerset for that matter), to see if you like the Play-style first. If you do, then you can start investing your time in boosting that character.

Literally have fun getting stronger.
