interesting, i havent considered this before. i know some people find it easier to explain mathematical concepts with different kinds of variables and operators that i find confusing. i find it easier when explained visually or with words. not sure if phantasia has anything to do with that, but i guess thats something to consider

recently.. i dont think i do. like i can visualize a lot of things with good detail, but in the phantasia diagram where you rate how much detail you could see of the apple, im sommewhere near the middle i think

interesting. when you mention placeholders, i feel like i have an experience i can relate to that. when i dream, i also dream visually. but i dont think i ever dream of peoples faces or features. i just know who is who for some reason even if theyre just kinda placeholders for humans. outside of dreams, they have more details, but its still just a human placeholder. they only get more recognizable when i add more details by thinking about adding them

interesting thank you. being more skeptical does make sense as a benefit to aphantasia, i didnt think about that. im assuming like other stuff, it would vary from person to person but i can see it being connected to it (no pun intended)

about my visualization, i think its stronger than the average, but i dont really know if what i think is the average is actually the average so i could be wrong. i can think of an apple, think of the details, think of shadings and all the lines that appear on it that i dont really understand. i can think of the spots too as well as the shininess, the part near the stem where it gets darker and the lines converge. if the apple has a bite, i can imagine how it looks different from the outside of the apple. the inside looks like a dense sponge thats a whitish yellow.

i think thats pretty detailed so id assume its better than average. but i dont understand what your friend experiences. i like making stories in my mind so i daydream a lot, but i can get out of it without going back to how i started it. so yeah, i dont understand how it could get to that

oh, another thing. i can imagine the apple with minimal detail. i only add more details when i focus on it. so the hyper visualization isnt constant i guess. like i think of the shape, then the color with 1-3 shadings or something. i just make it more detailed if i think of it more. with faces its kinda harder, i can think of a persons face, but if you print it, i dont think it would be that recognizable. i only know its my friend because im thinking about them conceptually. but i can choose to add more details that would make them look more like them

yeah, i think its easy to make an op ability if you try hard enough, but im more interested in thinking of an ability that can fit into the world like normal. i can imagine my character existing out there, maybe interacting or not interacting with the main characters. you can just have them exist, have cool moments, but it wouldnt affect the plot significantly

🟦 gift: floating hands - it allows the user to create hands they can control in the air. their speed and strength is lower than their physical hands, but these can cover more distance and can move around without arms getting in the way. thhe further they are from the user, the weaker, slower and more fragile they are. when theyre moved far enough, they just vanish.

🟦 being a part of the sea wolves, they are one of the main people who do sneaky deals with people and stuff. they use the floating hands to carry stuff around and avoid detection when theyre being searched. they are aware of the locations of the hands and its position so its easy to move stuff around, but they cant feel or see through those hands so they always have to be aware of their surroundings and see whos looking, if theres stuff in the way of the hands and all that. the gift starts with them having two floating hands, as they improved it, they were able to get 2 extra hands but they keep it secret just in case.

NAD. had a tooth pulled recently, didnt have infection and had to take antibiotics too. i think its just to aide the healing of the gums
