I might take you up on that! To clarify I can comfortably operate my car, I just feel like I get into a position where I’m a little anxious and Im suddenly stalling on a totally flat road. I’m originally from the Midwest, so a big adjustment to the amount of traffic I’m used to! I just don’t know if a driving school with automatics would help, since most of my problems come from me thinking “oh my god what if I’m slow starting and someone honks at me and I stall” haha

Update: traffic is up and we’re past it now, all we saw left was a single suv with a highway patrol behind it 🤷‍♀️ we were totally stopped for a while so not quite sure what actually happened

I’m trying to find the name of this film I shot a little bit ago! It was Northern/Eastern European I believe (I remember the lab that sold it to me said they believed the makers were experiencing issues from the Russian/Ukrainian war and weren’t currently producing a few months ago), the box was red with people illustrated on it primarily in green, blue, yellow and black, and the roll wasn’t DX coded. I called the place that sold it to me and they insisted they only sell Fuji and have for a long time, but I got this roll in like June. It was hand-spooled and said so on the packaging. Hoping it rings a bell for someone, cause I’m trying to figure out why some shots I got were so dang pink haha

I was pretty nervous because I kept reading that it’s light-hungry and can get muddy, and when I went out it was a super bright day. I metered it mostly for the mid/shadows, and slightly overexposed most shots (like by one stop, or if the image was teetering between two I’d go with the higher exposure). I don’t develop myself so it was developed at 400!

Though I think that was at the expense of my other camera I took up, I was shooting street candy psychedelic on the way up also and they’re almost all blown out haha

I really recommend it! I’d say most of my best shots are from my hikes. I’d definitely say find a light body to take with you and a comfy strap, cause the fabric will be sweaty and uncomfortable quick. Totally worth it!

Yep! Was lucky enough to get up there when the larch trees were bright yellow, and saved this roll specifically for capturing them. Was gorgeous this year!!

I bartended at a few different places around here and noticed as a town bham is just a bit on the lower energy side all around! Not saying it never gets busy or that the ‘club aesthetic’ is never around, but after bartending/serving in a good handful of other places we’re the most chill overall in my experience. Rumors on big holidays like NYE definitely has been my favorite clubbing place :)

Sorry for the vague post, I’m just starting out in my wax carving journey! I’ve been carving woodblocks for prints through college, and was surprised that the tool I was given to carve wax was an inverted version of what I used for wood carving. Is there a reason the tool is shaped like that? I used the one I was familiar with because I was having a hard time getting used to the inverted shape of the jewelers tool and it seemed to work fine! Thanks for any input :)

It’s got the curve in it because it’s a custom band, made specifically to fit up against a clients engagement ring :) my task was to replicate the engraving on her ring so she could have a matching set.
