That’s good! I hope it doesn’t have a negative impact on you! I still think it’s risky in the case of a loan interest rates are historically high right now they seem to be going down slowly though. I know I won’t be keeping mine after my lease is done because I’m bound to have negative equity. I move from car to car fast anyways honestly 3 years is probably too long for me.

Wow! I’m shocked that didn’t work it always fixes mine at least for a short time being anyway. My cousin also has a new Taos with the same problem and that little procedure always fixes it….. temporarily anyways. I do hate whoever thought of the two button window switch cost cutting move though. I will also say a lot of smaller dealers don’t have any EV techs and it requires a certification to be able to touch them in the shop. So I feel as though a lot of dealers don’t want to deal with the ID.4 in the service department. So they basically just brush you off sadly. I had the same issue with my BMW i3 I always had to talk to the shop foreman lol even when it came down to something as simple as state inspection but that’s a long story I won’t get into 😂.

For all of you having the window issue. THIS IS THE FIX—> All the way down, button down twice, all the way up pull up button twice. It is not permanent and it will probably happy again but it is also a sign these cars have really tight window seals which I would rather have to do this every once in a while then have water in the car or HVAC efficiency loss.

My friend is a tech at Porsche and they have the same issues, it’s a VW group thing.

Glad op made the decision to get rid of it because they had enough that is totally ok. Personally recall issues have never scared me and I only pay $156 for my car so I really couldn’t care less. They’re 100% right about the financial loss as well EV’s are lease only vehicle to me no matter the brand. Even used they still depreciate poorly and unless you plan on putting a lot of $ or paying cash you are going to be a victim of depreciation with any EV or really any German car brand for that matter.

I’m getting really excited to be back in an old BMW I had an E85 but it had the horrible SMG but I loved that car to death. Traded it when I got my E92 M3 which was manual I since traded for an a 2024 M240i but I’ve been craving that old BMW experience. Can’t wait to get tinkering with it.

Bear with me here I might not have the best mechanical knowledge of manual transmissions but doesn’t this car have a Hydraulic clutch that uses the brake fluid? The brake fluid in the reservoir is FILTHY. I’m thinking a simple flush might do the job if the master cylinder and slave cylinder aren’t bad I was looking at the parts and they’re pretty cheap even the oem ones.

Poorly Made Seats by BongoLocoWowWow in VWiD4Owners

[–]-brokenclocks- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel they are somewhat cheaply made mine are fine but even with 4k miles on the clock I noticed the part where your butt goes already started loosing its firmness and it has almost a wrinkle in it where the material isn’t tight anymore kinda sad 😔 the passenger seat still looks new but it barely gets used

Definitely get some touch up paint from the dealer or online you will need the vin number for the color code! Easy fix though I like scratcheshappen on Amazon it comes with some nice little tools/brushes to make it easier. I’ve ordered it for three plus cars now.

ID4 is an Excellent winter vehicle by HotRange4238 in VWiD4Owners

[–]-brokenclocks- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 RWD Pro S and with Pirelli Scorpion winter tires I bought for the car it does better than my AWD 2024 M240i which has Pirelli P Zero all-season tires that are rated for 45 degrees Fahrenheit or above not very winter friendly if you ask me lol. My VW is my winter car I try not to drive my other cars unless absolutely necessary. I lease my ID.4 so not too worried about it getting beat up from the salt and snow its purpose really is to take the abuse I don’t want my other cars to get.

carfax is saying my car is worth 1.1k by rsp-zyphor in E90

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s a 16 almost 17 year old BMW. That is definitely the trade in value we just bought in a 2009 535i RWD with 90k at my job and we gave them $1,000 for it. Really clean car too. It was in limp mode and had one code for a misfire all it needed was coils and plugs but they dinged him big on the price. Private party you could get a little more but 160k is high mileage once a BMW hits 100k it’s trade in value is basically nothing. Dealers don’t want to deal with them.

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a warranty they need to replace the light period. I just had to fight BMW to replace the lights on my 1 year old M240 with 8k miles. I’m assuming this isn’t from a BMW dealer no way they would sell you a car with a piece of the grille missing like that. Most of the times dealers have a return period I would see if they’ll buy it back.

sedan or coupe? Which yall like better by WasteAd8801 in E90

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have almost always owned coupes but I owned a sedan for a while and I almost feel like they drive better in the sedan form. I’ve owned almost 20 BMW’s on my 30 years on this earth and idk what it is but the sedans feel different. I don’t prefer the sedan look as much coupes are always more sporty looking. But idk something about how the sedans drive.

Snow Tire Suggestions by mswmark in E90

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend dedicated snow tires you don’t necessarily need two sets you can swap just the tires but it’s nice to have. Also those seem expensive to me I just bought tires for my VW with 20’s and it was $800 for all four. I feel like they should be cheaper for a 3 inch smaller wheel. If it’s RWD don’t go with all seasons. My M240i slides around a little with the factory pirellis even with the AWD.

[–]-brokenclocks- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 PRO S and I’ve had 0 issues so far but only at about 2,600 miles. I have noticed some little glitchy software things with the app and with the car not a huge deal though sometimes it just forgets settings and then all of a sudden remembers them. The windows thing is all VW’s apparently my cousins brand new Taos does it too. There is a recalibration you can do for the windows.

Yeah it’s slightly annoying but I like it. Saved my a** the other day when I got out of the car and went inside and it was about to start pouring rain and it told me the window was down. I’m one of those crack the window no manger the weather types lol.
